BARTIKA VOCATIONAL TRAINING

SPADE inaugurates its 5th batch of Vocational Training in Dorodih Village, Purulia, India, on 15th September 2026.

We've made planned changes to the courseware for this batch to enable rural youth in remote areas to gain the skills they need and be well prepared to enter the job market with relevant skills.

The areas that this 6-month course will train are: a) MS Office 2) Usage of existing Artificial Intelligence; c) Solar Energy, with emphasis on equipment installation and Maintenance

Vocational training in rural areas of India is crucial in bridging the skill gap, improving employability, and enhancing economic development. Rural areas face unique challenges such as limited access to quality education, fewer employment opportunities, and a lack of specialised skills. Vocational training can address these issues effectively by equipping the rural population with practical, market-oriented skills.

Vocational training plays a key role in social inclusion. By targeting disadvantaged groups, including women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and other marginalised communities, vocational programs can provide them with the skills necessary to break the cycle of poverty and social exclusion.

🌸 Celebrating Teachers & Young Talent 🌸

Teachers’ Day was joyfully celebrated at SPADE’s Bartika Learning Centres in Manbazar, Punura, Bamungora and Dhadkigora through vibrant cultural programmes by the students. 🎶✨

The celebration of creativity continued with a two-day theatre workshop at Dhadkigora, giving local children an opportunity to explore acting and express their talents. The initiative was also featured in Anandabazar Patrika. 🎭📰

Together, these activities promote joyful learning, creativity and holistic development among children.

we believe that education is one of the strongest foundations of true freedom. Through the Bartika Learning Centres, we continue to nurture young minds, encourage creativity, and create opportunities for children in underserved communities to learn, dream, and grow.

SALBONI STUDENTS' VISIT TO IIT KHARAGPUR

Our rural students of Salboni, part of the tribal belt of West Midnapore, had an inspiring educational visit to the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur), on 21st Feb, where they were exposed to a world-class academic environment for the first time. The visit allowed them to explore advanced laboratories, interact with scholars, and understand the possibilities of higher education in science and technology. Walking through the historic campus, including Hijli Jail quarters, sparked curiosity, confidence, and ambition among the children, motivating them to dream bigger and work harder toward their academic goals.

A meeting with Director Prof Suman Chakraborty was the icing on the cake. He met all of them at his office and questioned them on Newton’s Laws, etc.

We hope this visit to IIT will trigger our students to pursue studies in Science and Engineering, make a mark on themselves in their career ahead and enable them to be part of the Indian mainstream.
