SALBONI STUDENTS' VISIT TO IIT KHARAGPUR
Our rural students of Salboni, part of the tribal belt of West Midnapore, had an inspiring educational visit to the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur), on 21st Feb, where they were exposed to a world-class academic environment for the first time. The visit allowed them to explore advanced laboratories, interact with scholars, and understand the possibilities of higher education in science and technology. Walking through the historic campus, including Hijli Jail quarters, sparked curiosity, confidence, and ambition among the children, motivating them to dream bigger and work harder toward their academic goals.
A meeting with Director Prof Suman Chakraborty was the icing on the cake. He met all of them at his office and questioned them on Newton’s Laws, etc.
We hope this visit to IIT will trigger our students to pursue studies in Science and Engineering, make a mark on themselves in their career ahead and enable them to be part of the Indian mainstream.
