We are deeply honoured to share that our Founder & Secretary, Adv. Sidhant Ghosh, has been awarded a Letter of Appreciation by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, for his contribution to the successful ex*****on of Operation Nirbhaya.

This coordinated inter-state rescue operation, carried out alongside SSB, NHRC, Bihar Police, Mission Mukti Foundation, and other stakeholders, led to the rescue of 115 victims (48 girls and 67 boys, including 39 minors) who had been trafficked from Assam to Bihar on the false promise of government employment. The operation also resulted in the arrest of nine accused involved in the trafficking network.

Rescue and Relief Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (ICTS–TIFR), Bengaluru, for inviting us to deliver a sensitization session titled “The Unseen and Unheard Voices of India.”

The session was led by our Secretary, Advocate Sidhant Ghosh, alongside our representative, Ms. Pooja Singha, and focused on some of the most vulnerable and often overlooked members of our society, survivors of human trafficking and intellectually disabled, vulnerable children and individuals. Through the session, we sought to shed light on the complex challenges faced by these unseen and unheard voices, while emphasizing the importance of prevention, protection, rehabilitation, and the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities. Particular attention was given to the need for compassionate, rights-based interventions that uphold dignity, foster inclusion, and empower individuals to rebuild their lives with confidence and independence. The discussion also highlighted the collective responsibility of institutions, communities, and citizens in ensuring that these children and vulnerable individuals are not left behind, but are supported in their journey towards acceptance, opportunity, and meaningful integration into mainstream society.

We sincerely thank ICTS Bangalore for providing a platform to bring these important conversations to the forefront and for recognizing the need to amplify the voices of those who are too often unheard, enabling them to lead lives of dignity, independence, and inclusion.

Today, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Rescue and Relief Foundation was invited by the Centre for the Development of Human Initiatives (CDHI) to conduct a training session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act at BMS, Kolkata.

The session was attended by community leaders and grassroots workers from the Sundarbans region who work closely with rural communities, particularly women vulnerable to unsafe migration, exploitation, and workplace harassment.

The training focused on understanding sexual harassment, legal protections available under the POSH Act, complaint and redressal mechanisms, and the rights of women to a safe and dignified work environment.

Awareness is often the first step towards prevention. By equipping rural women and community leaders with knowledge of their rights and available protections, we can help create safer workplaces and stronger communities.

We thank CDHI for the invitation and for their continued commitment towards empowering women and strengthening community-based protection systems.
