September started with loads of excitement for us. We have collaborated with Rajiv Gandhi Foundation to set up 75 WALLOBOOKS Libraries and Kidki Labs in Delhi and NCR. Six days Teachers Training Program was conducted for teachers from 75 Not For Profit Organisations. They shared their experiences and the challenges faced by them as teachers of the first-generation learners. Innovation in the classroom and the 21st-century skills were discussed with them as the essential components of effective learning for the children.

On the 19th of June we felicitated 40 students of Delhi Public School Whitefield. They had had raised funds in creating 24 WALLOBOOKS in their city.
We wholeheartedly thank the management team Luvlee Dutta and the students for joining hands with us.

The WALLOBOOKS Project is Hiring.
Multiple Positions / Education Not for Profit

The WALLOBOOKS Project gives vulnerable children in India direct access to a hyper-cool Library + Laboratory. We run 200 centers across India giving over 50000 kids an opportunity to shape their own future. Our effort in re:imagining education is acknowledged by Ashoka and The LEGO Foundation.

We are hiring for the following roles:
+ Full Time Program Director -- Location: Kolkata (1)
+ Full Time Partnerships & Fund Raising Director / Location: Flexible (1)
+ 6 Months Internship -- We are also looking for 4 Interns to work directly with the Founders and experience what it means to run one of India's most innovative Not for Profit in Education.

Our application process is simple. Read this first: http://bit.ly/kiransayla and if you feel good, mail the founders at [email protected] and [email protected]

Our entire team went for a Two Day Environmental Hygiene Pilot Workshop during the past week for the kids from Bishalakshmi Tala Primary School, Behala.
It is one of our oldest centers.

They have a serious problem of water clogging and open drainage in their locality leaving all forms of sewage and garbage ( especially plastics) floating around in the adjacent canal.
It is not the only place having this problem.
The people there are very friendly and cooperative and their kids are as smart and responsible as any child can be.
They are now learning to make paper bags out of old newspapers stacked up in almost every household and have been going about reciting the 3Rs - Reuse, Reduce and Recycle!
The children are also encouraged to tell their parents to make paper bags and discourage the use of plastics.
It is one of the first phases of the Fliplab Project which means we teach families to learn from their kids!
This topic is only one of 9 which have been formulated for a span of 9 months.
Since this was just a pilot program, we are now planning to implement the whole project as soon as possible in all of our centers - present and upcoming!
