Even after 79 years of independence, last-mile connectivity and essential public healthcare remain a challenge in the distant corners of our country. That is precisely where we, as Rotarians, step in to bridge the gap and deliver help where it is needed most.
Members of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Park Point recently traveled to one of the remotest villages in the Mandirbazar block of the Sundarban district to conduct a comprehensive Free Eye Camp.
Key Project Impact:
145 Beneficiaries were reached and screened for eye conditions.
42 Beneficiaries were provided with free corrective spectacles.
25 Beneficiaries were diagnosed and referred for cataract surgery, which will be taken up on a priority basis.
In addition to the eye camp, the club donated a Centrifuge Machine to the eye care unit run by the Sundarban Social Development Centre. This equipment was donated by Mr. Ramanuj Datta in loving memory of his father, the late Dr. Rtn. Rathindranath Datta, ensuring his passion for community welfare lives on.

Rotary Club of Calcutta Park Point has taken a meaningful step towards improving the health and well-being of children by installing a water filtration system at Bamanghata Primary School.
The school serves 500+ students, many of whom are first-generation learners. Access to safe and clean drinking water is essential for their health, comfort, and ability to learn effectively.
With this initiative, students and teachers will have access to safe, filtered drinking water throughout the school day, contributing to a healthier and more supportive learning environment.
