You might have already noticed the news article published in Times of India on 28th December 2025. It was written on availability of accommodation facilities for economically weak Cancer patients from different districts of Bengal and adjusting states who come to Kolkata for their treatment in different hospitals. The article was written on Niramoy Bhawan, a low budget accommodation facility run by Bharat Sevashram Sangha at their own house at Tollygaunj, where Oncolinc, a voluntary organisation associated with the project. Niramoy Bhawan organised a function on 27th instant to celebrate the completion of 20 years of service. In response to their invitation Suprio Das, Dr Asim Chatterjee and Goutam Saha joined the program. Suprio Das and Goutam Saha visited all the 15 rooms and dormitory of the three stories building. About 50% were occupied that day. Dr Subir Ganguly conducted the program and Dilip Maharaj, head monk of Bharat Sevashram graced the function as chief guest. You all will be glad to know and will feel proud that in the article it has been clearly mentioned that our Gandhi Sebanibas started in August 2005 is the first such establishment in Kolkata and now serving the Cancer patients with our 36 rooms with so many additional facilities like free ration, morning ☕ etc. These all have been possible only with tireless sincere effort by our members, patronage from generous people who all have been with us since the beginning. As the general secretary of Gandhi Seva Sangha I would like to convey my sincere thanks and regards to all our donors, advisors, patrons, sponsors like Anmol Industries, GTPL, S,&IB, and above all the active members who are always trying to keep the helpless cancer people with smilling face. Along with the residents of Sebanibas you all must be enjoying Sombar Adda, which is a unique initiative by our people. You all know that so far all the thousands of patients and their accompanying persons have expressed their full satisfaction. But, as the room number has increased to 36, Sebanibas remains crowded with around 80 people always. So, to run the service seamlessly and to help the ailing Cancer patients better we do need more volunteers. Please come forward, think over and devote some time for a noble cause. Once again convey my thanks and gratitude to all who are rendering self services and who are supporting us in all other ways. - Goutam Saha, General Secretary
