Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Education CIRE is a non-profit organisation, registered in 2010 under the West Bengal Registration of Societies.

Our members have published scholarly works in PLoS ONE, Chemical Physics Letters, American Meteorological Society, Homeopathy and other top ranking peer reviewed journals. As part of our encouragement to author books, a project under the sponsorship of INSA was taken up by a member. Seminars and Lectures

The Centre has held One-Day Seminars on current research of its members and associates. Lectures are delivered by them on a regular basis on varied topics of scientific and societal interest. Science Workshops for School Students

A special series of Science Workshops for under-priviledged high school students of West Bengal are organised in collaboration with Indian Science Academy, Kolkata Chapter.

Genetically modified crops are making their presence felt across the globe, but scientists, agriculturists, sociologists and politicians are divided over the ramifications and future impacts. While such crops are in use in the Americas, their use is banned to sternly regulated in Europe. In India there have been diverse opinions about usage of such bounties. A “One Day Symposium on Perspectives on Genetically Modified Crops Usage in India” seeks to enlighten the audience on various aspects of the issues involved for information and understanding through specialist speakers of repute and a concluding panel discussion which will be forwarded to the Central Government in Delhi for their perusal.
