The holistic care and development and protection of human rights of severely underprivileged children/persons in India

Set up in 1999 to raise funds for one girls' home, The Hope Foundation is now a registered Irish charity with offices in ireland, India, the UK, Germany and the USA. In the past decade, The Hope Foundation's extensive work has been considered critical in ensuring the rights of the underpriveleged sections of the society, specially the street and slum children of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India.

Living on the streets, the cjhildren are exposed to acute hunger and severe physical and sexual abuse. Those who survive are left to fend for themselves, with no promise of a safe future. They are forced to work from as young as five years of age to earn money for food and so cannot go to schools. Hope works to free them from lives of pain, abuse, poverty and darkness. Hope funds and operates over 60 projects in and around Kolkata to provide the basic rights of education, nutrition, health care and protection.

On 31st October 2025, HOPE celebrated the 26th Foundation Day.

Children from all projects put up a delightful cultural programme on the theme "Ancient Roots, Modern Wings."

Thank you to all the partners, supporters, and well-wishers for their continued enthusiasm and support over all these years. Together, the extended HOPE community continues to creating "a world where it should never hurt to be a child."

J.D Birla Institute Kolkata organized their annual sports 2024 recently at Gitanjali Stadium,Kolkata and invited children from residential child care centres of Hope Kolkata Foundation to be a part of the event.

The children did extremely well in the sports and participated with full enthusiasm and won two first prizes,one second prize and a third prize consecutively !

We are really very proud of you children and thank you J.D Birla Institute for giving our children this wonderful opportunity ❤️

It is a matter of great honour and pride for Hope Kolkata Foundation to announce that one of our children got felicitatied by Mahadevi Birla World Academy on the auspicious ocassion of Saraswati Pujo this year at the event-'Beyond Divinity: A Journey from Darkness to Light '

She was also honoured by a scholarship recognizing her excellence in the field of academics ,by the school authorities.

We are really very proud of you!

Here are some glimpses from the recently organized sports day celebration at Bhagar Sponsorship Program ,under Hope Kolkata Foundation..

The children enthusiastically participated in a number of races and won accolades for their outstanding performances and also won a lot of trophies at the end of the event..They were greatly encouraged by their families and the staff members of the program.

Amazing energy children !Keep up the good work !

Hope Kolkata Foundation is thankful to The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat for providing food packets and refreshment for the children of the Brian's Way Project as they went for a day outing to Harinalaya(Deer Park) at Eco Park,Rajarhat ..

The children had a gala time and enjoyed the sumptuous food!

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was an Indian nationalist leader who was a key figure in the Indian independence movement against British colonial rule. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress and was instrumental in organizing the Non-Cooperation Movement in 1920.

On the occasion of his birth anniversary,our children from the residential child care cebtres paid tribute to the national hero in their own humble ways and remembered his bravery through patriotic song and dance performances!

Purulia tour was indeed a super fun experience for our children from Hope Kolkata Foundation,as they visited Marble Lake, Laharia Mondir, Bambi Falls, Upper Dam,Ayodhya Hills and several such beautiful picturesque places..

A beautiful local dance performance and bonfire were also arranged for all the children and the staff members at the resort on the last day of the trip and everybody made memories for a lifetime and they have all returned fully rejuvenated ❤

Our boys from the residential child care centres of Hope Kolkata Foundation accompanied by the staff members, enjoyed thoroughly at their annual excursion in Purulia,West Bengal where the kids spend wonderful time amidst mother nature and soaked in the beauty of the hillocks,water bodies and waterfalls ,which were absolutely breathtaking to say the least!

The happy faces of the children say it all :)
