Standing With Ashray - A Home for the Homeless

We visited Ashray, a home for the urban destitute run by the Purbachal Ananda Foundation, which operates on very nominal government aid. The home currently shelters 30 inmates, most of whom were picked up from the streets by the local police or municipality and brought there for care and rehabilitation.

Chalk, Classroom and a Commitment:
In collaboration with the NGO Be and Make, we have launched a yearlong initiative to sponsor the teachers remuneration at Shopan Education Centre, Mumudpur. The first instalment, for July, was already sent earlier. A cheque for Rs. 25000/- was handed over to Anindita Ray of the NGO Be and Make, by District Chairman Aditi Ray during the official club visit. (10000/- for 2 months remuneration for the teacher and 15000/- towards stationaries for the children of Shopan.

IWC Down Town members at the District Rally, 2026! UNICA - celebrating 50 years of friendship and service. Pratham Padakshep, a special school for neuro divergent children was part of the Inner Wheel District Rally, UNICA, 2026. They created and presented handcrafted decor items, accessories, and other unique products.
