Behind every successful harvest is a farmer who chose hope over hardship. 🌾

Through sustainable farming interventions and improved agricultural practices, farmers are building stronger livelihoods, increasing resilience, and creating a more secure future for their families.

Supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan, these efforts are driving real transformation at the grassroots level.

How can we make farming more sustainable for the next generation? Tell us in the comments.

From spending heavily on chemicals to saving ₹2,500 every month — Lili Mandal’s journey shows how small agricultural changes can create big impact. 🌾

With support through the Srijan Project, she adopted insect traps that improved crop health, reduced farming costs, and increased productivity.

Supported by Parivartan, these interventions are helping farming communities move toward more sustainable and resilient agriculture.

What farming innovation do you think can change rural livelihoods the most?

Some voices never fade.
They become part of a people, a culture, a consciousness.

On Rabindra Jayanti, we remember Rabindranath Tagore — poet, philosopher, composer, educator, and one of Bengal’s greatest cultural icons whose words continue to inspire humanity, compassion, freedom, and creativity.

From Rabindra Sangeet to literature and social thought, his legacy still lives in everyday emotions, conversations, and celebrations.

India can lead in carbon removal.

But are we ready to scale it?

Stakeholders convene in New Delhi to launch India’s first policy brief and technical report on Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW), highlighting key gaps in policy, MRV, and financing for scaling carbon removal.

New Year messages often speak of hope.
But in the development sector, hope is built—intentionally.

As we step into the Bengali New Year, it’s a moment to reflect on what truly drives change on the ground:
access to opportunities, community participation, and sustained effort.

At MANT, every new beginning is tied to enabling livelihoods, strengthening rural ecosystems, and creating long-term impact.

The question for all of us working in this space:
How do we turn “new beginnings” into measurable progress this year?

Wishing everyone a meaningful and impactful year ahead.

🌱 New Report Launched: Enhanced Rock Weathering in India 🌱

We’ve released India’s first comprehensive technical report on Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW), along with a policy brief and executive summary.

This work brings together the science, policy gaps, and stakeholder insights needed to move ERW from potential to practice in India.

From carbon removal to improving soil health, ERW presents a unique opportunity—but scaling it will depend on the right policy and market frameworks.

📸 Glimpses from the launch, roundtable discussions, and key moments from the event.

💬 Join the conversation on advancing climate-smart solutions in India.

PS. The project wouldn't have been possible without Energiva Ventures. And the CRIA helped us make this event a success. Thank you to both.
A special thanks you to Prof. David Manning for sharing this thoughts virtually.

Carbon removal is not on the policy horizon; it is an immediate gap.

Reducing emissions alone will not enable India to achieve net zero. The carbon already in the atmosphere must be permanently removed especially for India, where climate vulnerability intersects with development needs.

Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) is emerging as a viable carbon dioxide removal pathway, moving from theory to practice. India is well-positioned to scale ERW, with the potential to deliver direct benefits to smallholder farmers.

However, critical gaps remain. There is no recognition in national policy frameworks, no approved methodology under the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (2024), no national MRV protocols, and limited regulatory clarity and coordination.

To address this, MANT, CRIA, and Energiva Ventures are convening the launch of a policy brief and a first of its kind technical report from India, alongside a roundtable with stakeholders from policy, science, industry, and finance.

The aim is to identify constraints, surface bottlenecks, and clarify the actions needed to advance ERW in India.

A field. A few stalls. Conversations that matter.

Over two days in Kumarganj, something important unfolded—
farmers didn’t just learn about chemical-free farming, they experienced it.

From millet-based cooking competitions and model demonstrations to open discussions on market linkage and new technologies, the event created a space where farmers, scientists, and institutions came together as equals.

With support from Parivartan and in collaboration with Dakshin Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Icchamati Kumarganj Agro Producer Company, the initiative focused on:

✔️ Farmer awareness & motivation
✔️ Technology transfer & live demonstrations
✔️ Strengthening market linkages

Moments like these—quiz sessions, cultural performances, and even the distribution of spray machines to FIGs—show that real change happens when knowledge meets access.

The question is no longer “Is chemical-free farming possible?”
It is “How fast can we scale it?”

We can, to some extent, reverse the effects of climate change with this natural and sustainable process.

We can, to some extent, reverse the effects of climate change with this natural and sustainable process.

Nature already has a hashtag system.
Rain + rocks = CO₂ pulled out of the air.

It’s not experimental.
It’s been running for millions of years.
It can absorb all the CO₂ we emit.
