Promoting Awareness: Life Skills & Family Cyber Safety Workshops at Dhapa

On 26th April 2026, a life skills session for adolescent girls on responsible sexual behaviour was conducted at Boinchtala, Dhapa under the Adolescent Girls Empowerment Project, supported by Nomi Network India. Through role play and interactive games, participants built awareness around safe choices and personal responsibility.

Additionally, a workshop on prevention of human trafficking and cyber safety engaged 32 parents and family members, focusing on risks, early warning signs, and practical protective measures.

Together, these initiatives reinforced informed decision-making and strengthened community responsibility towards safety and wellbeing.

Growing Sustainability: Capacity Building on Organic Sack Farming

On 25th April 2026, the Sack Farming Project team conducted a Beneficiaries Capacity Building Training at the BFS Model Centre in Pujali, with participation from beneficiaries across seven brickfields.

The session focused on organic manure preparation, plant nutrition, and the advantages of organic over chemical inputs. Hands-on demonstrations on preparing organic fertiliser and insecticide enhanced practical understanding.

Around 80 beneficiaries attended and actively engaged in the programme, reflecting strong interest in adopting sustainable farming practices.

Through interactive discussions and reflective activities, participants explored self-awareness, emotional understanding, and healthy interpersonal relationships. The session provided a supportive space for adolescents to express themselves and strengthen their confidence.

Empowering Educators: Barefoot Teachers Training Programme

On April 16th , 17th ,21st and 22nd, a 4-day Barefoot Teachers Training Programme was successfully conducted to strengthen the skills of grassroots educators.

The training covered children’s characteristics, qualities of a good teacher, classroom management, storytelling techniques, use of Teaching Learning Materials (TLM), and engaging tools like card games and action rhymes. Important child protection themes such as UNCRC, child rights, child abuse, and concepts of equality and equity were also discussed.

The interactive sessions helped participants build confidence and practical skills to create more inclusive and child-friendly learning environments.
