NML has successfully organized fifteen Mountaineering Expeditions in Indian Himalayas and achieved a remarkable success rate, which is an achievement in the field of mountaineering in West Bengal and also in Indian Mountaineering Foundation’s (IMF-An apex body controlling adventure sports in India) record. ding Annapurna & Everest Base camp. NML have also organized several Coastal trek i.e. trekking along the sea coast in several phases and the culb members have completed up to Visakapattanam starting from Gangasagar in West Bengal and intend to complete the total Indian coast. NML has also organised nineteen Rock-Climbing Courses in various spots of West Bengal; each camp comprising of more than fifty trainees. Successful and interested candidates are sponsored by NML to participate in the mountaineering courses in various mountaineering institute. A remarkable number of club members have participated in Sport Climbing / Artificial Wall Climbing in State, Zonal & National level and acquired positions at all levels, especially National level. A few climbers have also participated in various open meets in Delhi & Darjeeling. NML has also organized seminars on mountain photography, mountain hazards etc to train members & friends. It is hard to quote all the steps of our journey but a few are :
Members have participated in Indo-French Rock climbing camp. Attended Rock Climbing Competitions organized by Youth Service Dept., Govt. of West Bengal & other club. Skiing from DMAS, Manali & West Bengal sponsored course. Members successfully completed the Judges course organized by IMF, New Delhi & UIAA, France and worked as judge in zonal & national level. Two of our members participated in the IMF sponsored Alpine course. Three of our members have participated in IMF sponsored mountaineering expedition. We have organized Kayaking Camp. Many of our members have participated in Parasailing organized by Indian Air Force
We have also acquired some state level prizes in Photography
Our remarkable footsteps are not our pride but our experience to move further strongly along with the young generation to build a nature-friendly mankind in the age of demolition.
