🎨 Art Beyond Boundaries: Empowering Tribal Children Across West Bengal

At Kolkata Angikar, we believe creativity can transform lives—no matter where a child comes from. We are proud to launch our Drawing & Art Education Program for Tribal Children, reaching underserved communities across West Bengal, including the heritage Shabar tribes.

From the forests of Purulia to the riverbanks of Murshidabad and the remote islands of the Sundarbans, we are bringing colors, creativity, and confidence into young lives.

📍 Our Program Locations:

✅ Gagada Village, Purulia – Supporting Shabar tribal children to express their stories through art
✅ Kandi & Nabgram, Murshidabad – Encouraging creativity in rural classrooms
✅ Kumirmari, Sundarbans – Delivering art education in remote island communities

✏️ Why Art Matters
For these children, art is more than a skill—it’s a powerful tool for self-expression, emotional healing, and cultural identity. A simple drawing book can become a gateway to confidence, imagination, and hope.

🎨 How You Can Support This Mission

🖍️ Donate art supplies (pencils, crayons, sketchbooks)
💰 Sponsor art classes for underprivileged children
✏️ Volunteer as an art mentor and inspire young minds

Together, we can transform classrooms into creative spaces and give every child a voice through art.

One Small Step Can Help Someone Move Toward a Better Future. 🚶‍♀️

Have you ever thought about how something as simple as a wheelchair or tricycle can change an entire life?

Every day, there are people around us whose lives have come to a standstill due to accidents or illness. But you can help them move forward again.

✨ Here’s how you can make a difference:

> Donate a new or gently used wheelchair or tricycle
> Honor the memory of your loved ones with a meaningful act of kindness
> Help someone return to school, start a career, or support their family again

💫 At Kolkata Angikar, we’ve already distributed 50+ wheelchairs and tricycles, transforming lives—students back in classrooms, individuals restarting careers, and families finding stability again.

Imagine being the reason someone gets a second chance at life.

🌈 Your support doesn’t just provide mobility—it opens doors to dreams, dignity, and independence.

🙏 Let’s come together to create change.

Donate today and turn memories into meaningful impact. Because there’s no greater tribute than giving someone a new life to live.

🌟 Bringing Digital World for Tribal Kids 🌟

"Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important." – Bill Gates

At our Sahoj Path Tribal School in Kandi, Murshidabad, we have started a computer literacy program for tribal girls and boys. For many of these children, computers were once something they had never even seen—life was only about daily survival. Today, that story is changing.

With around 60 students—mostly girls, this initiative is not just about learning computers. It’s about empowering young minds, encouraging education among girls, and helping prevent challenges like child marriage in marginalized communities.
We believe that one of these children could become the future leader and change-maker of their society.

We are deeply grateful to Hyland Systems for supporting this noble cause by providing laptops and helping us take a step closer to digital inclusion.

Now, we invite YOU to be a part of this journey.
Come forward, support us, and join hands in creating a better, more inclusive future for these children.

A day filled with care, compassion, and community ❤️

We recently organized a medical camp at Kalapathar Junior High School, Purulia, in collaboration with Vivekananda Institute of Environment Management and Prabashik Foundation.

👨‍⚕️ Over 350+ tribal and marginalized people, including elderly individuals and children, attended the camp.
For many of them, this was the first medical check-up of their lives — a moment that truly touched our hearts.

The camp included:

General health check-ups
Dental examinations
Basic medical tests
Free medicines for all patients

🍱 We also arranged a small tiffin for everyone, ensuring no one left hungry.

🙏 We are deeply grateful to Swami Vedajnanda, President of Vivekananda Institute, who was personally present and worked alongside us throughout the camp. Your support inspires us, Swamiji.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to all our well-wishers for their continued support.

👏 Special thanks to Prabhasik Foundation medical team and our Purulia team — Goutam da, Kamal da, Subhas Da, Sintu, Avijit — and all Dishari teaching & non-teaching staff for making this noble initiative a success.

Together, we move forward with hope, service, and humanity.

✨Women Empowerment (Sewing Machines Distribution) with Support of the Rotary Club of Joka🤝

As part of Rotary’s Self-Employment Project, the Rotary Club of Joka, along with Kolkata Angikar as a RCC (Rotary Community Corps) team, successfully executed a sewing machine distribution program aimed at empowering women from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Through this initiative, 4 sewing machines 🧵 were provided to 4 deserving women to help them achieve financial independence and support their families.

This support will enable the beneficiaries to improve their household income 💰 , contribute to their children’s education , and move towards living a self-reliant and dignified life .

👩‍🦰 Beneficiaries of the Sewing Machine Distribution:

1) Chanchala Sandhukha – Homemaker from Madhyamgram
2) Rajia Begam – Local tailor from Baranagar
3) Mousmi Singha – Resident of Sreerampore
4) Swapna Buswal – Resident of Sreerampore

We are proud to have taken a meaningful step towards women’s empowerment 💪👩‍🦰 and livelihood enhancement.

🎉 Day 8- Pujo garments distribution - Shibganj, Howrah ❤️

In Shibganj, Howrah, we just wrapped up our FINAL & MOST HEARTWARMING Puja Garments Distribution of the season!

Teaming up with our incredible partner Bagnan Sankalpa, we surprised nearly 500 brick kiln workers and their families with brand-new festive clothes 👕✨ and food packets. Watching kids, moms, dads, and grandparents light up the second they opened their gifts? Pure magic! 🥰

Then we all sat together for a delicious community lunch – because Puja vibes are best shared over food! 🍛😍

This single event brought joy to 500 beautiful souls, pushing our total Puja reach this year to OVER 1,500 happy faces! 🌟

All of this happened because of TWO MONTHS of non-stop love & hustle from our volunteers: Name collection → shopping → stickering → packing → dispatch → ground distribution. Every step powered by pure passion! 🙌

A massive THANK YOU to every member, donor, well-wisher, and partner. YOU made Puja special for people who work the hardest and celebrate the least. ❤️

Want to help us keep creating these moments all year round? Join the family – we’d love to have you!
