কানাডার অ্যালবার্টা রাজ্যের বাঁফ শহরে প্রায় পঞ্চাশ বছর ধরে হয়ে চলেছে "বাঁফ মাউন্টেন ফিল্ম ফেস্টিভ্যাল"।
উদ্যোক্তা, বাঁফ সেন্টার ফর আর্টস এন্ড ক্রিয়েটিভিটি।

প্রতিযোগিতামূলক এই আন্তর্জাতিক চলচ্চিত্র উৎসবে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে আসে চারশোর বেশি ছোট ছোট চলচ্চিত্র। চিত্রগুলো আমাদের পরিচিত করে বিভিন্ন ধরনের আউটডোর অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টস ও পরিবেশ সচেতনতার সাথে।

প্রতি নভেম্বরে এই উৎসবে প্রাথমিক বাছাইরের পরে ৭০ থেকে ৮০ টি ছবি প্রদর্শিত হয় এবং সেখানে বিচারক মন্ডলীর চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী নির্বাচিত ২৫ থেকে ৩০ টি চলচিত্র বিভিন্ন দেশে দেখানো হয় যা কিনা "বাঁফ মাউন্টেন ফিল্ম ফেস্টিভ্যাল- ওয়ার্ল্ড ট্যুর " নামে খ্যাত। দ্য হিমালয়ান ক্লাব- কলকাতা সেকশনের উদ্যোগে এই রোমাঞ্চকর ফিল্ম শো আয়োজিত হবে ৮ই ফেব্রুয়ারি, রবিবার মহাজাতি সদনে বিকেল পাঁচটা থেকে রাত নটা।

বাঁফের এই বাছাই করা ছবিগুলো চাক্ষুষ দেখা একটা অভিজ্ঞ্যতা আর গভীর অনুভূতির সঞ্চয়।

২০২৫-২৬ এর ফ্লিমগুলোর মধ্যে আছে -

Anytime- Utah -দেখতে দেখতে মানুষের অদম্য ইচ্ছা আর চেষ্টায় ভর করে আমরা সাইকেলে চেপে পৌঁছে যাবো যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ইউটার গিরিখাদের বিপদ সঙ্কুল পথে ।

Ice - Waterfalls দেখে ঝাপিয়ে পড়বো বরফে জমে যাওয়া বিশাল জলপ্রপাতের ওপর থেকে।

Ian - ছবিতে ৭২ বছরের অস্ট্রেলিয়ান যুবক কঠিন পাথুরে দেয়ালে চড়ে আমাদের শেখায় বয়স একটা সংখ্যা মাত্র।
2 Legs is 2 Easy- বোন ক্যান্সার কেড়ে নিয়েছে পাদুটো কিন্তু রুখে দিতে পারেনি স্টিভ নামের এক ব্যক্তির প্রাণ শক্তি আর এডভেঞ্চারের নেশা! জীবন লড়াইএর এমন অনুপ্রেরণা না দেখলে পাবো কোথায়!

Footprints on Katmai- ঠাকুমার পায়ের চিহ্ন দেখে এগিয়ে আলাস্কার সমুদ্র সৈকতের অজানা বিপদ দেখল ও দেখালো ম্যাক্স রোমি।

Keep it Burning - এডু মেরিন তার ১৩ বছরের ভাই আলেক্স কে সঙ্গে নিয়ে কারাকোরামের বন্য পাহাড়ে পাড়ি জমালো , যে পাহাড়ে দীর্ঘ ৩৩ বছরে আর কেউ যায়নি।

The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival, formerly Banff Festival of Mountain Films, is an international film competition and annual presentation of films and documentaries about mountain culture, sports, environment and adventure & exploration, held every fall (October/November) in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Immediately after the festival in November, a selection of the best films entered in the festival goes on tour around the world.

Kolkata, prepare for an unforgettable evening where mountain stories, human resilience, and the spirit of exploration come alive on the big screen.



On 8th February 2026, The Himalayan Club – Kolkata Section proudly presents the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour at Mahajati Sadan, starting 5:00 PM onwards. This is your chance to experience some of the finest outdoor adventure films from around the world — from alpine climbs and ski descents to mountain biking, wilderness journeys, and the quiet beauty of remote landscapes.



This year’s edition begins with two special sessions:

• Nandini Purandare (President, The Himalayan Club) and Deepa Balsavar on their acclaimed book The Sherpa Trail

• Vineeta Muni and Divyesh Muni presenting Across the Himalaya: First Traverse by Women



Followed by three hours of Banff’s award-winning films, curated for audiences who love mountains, adventure, and the extraordinary stories that unfold in the world’s wildest places.
