A 35-Year Journey of Persistence: Sonata Foundation 🐾🌳
35 years ago, we began our journey with a small dream. Our primary objective was social awareness through 'Information Communication through Entertainment' (ICE). However, with the passage of time, the scope of our work and our sense of responsibility have grown even deeper.
Here are some of the milestones from our long journey:
🌱 Commitment to a Greener Earth: In collaboration with students from nearly 65 schools in the New Town-Rajarhat area and local residents, we have built a green movement. Driven by our love for nature, we have distributed over 80,000 tree saplings for free to date.
🎶 Melodies of Awareness: Through the power of music, we have reached people's hearts to spread awareness—be it for UNICEF’s vaccination programs, HIV/AIDS awareness with NACO, or our campaigns to 'Save the Tiger, Save the Forest' for environmental protection.
🚫 Social Protection: We have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the West Bengal Police in anti-drug awareness campaigns. Additionally, in collaboration with the CID and the police to prevent human trafficking, we have been working on counseling and rehabilitating women who have been trafficked to bring them back into the mainstream.
🐄 Shelter for Helpless Souls: One of the most challenging, yet deeply fulfilling aspects of our journey is the care of helpless, stray cattle. For these abandoned animals, often left battered by vehicle accidents, we have built a safe shelter using our own savings. Currently, 28 cows are being nurtured with love and care in our shelter.
Despite political adversity and the threat of eviction, we continue to move forward. We do not rely on any external donations; we continue this fight solely through our own savings.
The cries of helpless animals and the call of nature’s greenery are the sources of our strength. Your love and support are our greatest assets. Our journey will continue.
