An association of parents of the persons with Mental Retardation, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Disabilities. It has been almost twenty years since BEHALA BODHAYAN began its journey; a journey with
some children, normal in all respects but ONE, Nature has made them 'special children'. Every week these children with mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities initially used to flock together at different places like Behala Blind School, Arya samity, Douglas Ground, marine Engineering College and finally into this organization. Rikta Ghosh, the founder General secretary of Behala Bodhayan had to face a well known challenge against society as her son is both mentally and physically challenged but this lacuna could not drown them into the ocean of despondency; instead the Ghosh family took it up as a challenge and came up with this group along with the parents of those special children. The seat of formation of Behala Bodhayan lies in the arduous toil and zeal of the parents of the children with special needs. A story which began with the struggles of such parents opened a new world altogether, a world of hope and happiness, a world with a new beginning. ACTIVITIES:
