Calcutta Rescue Calcutta Rescue is a registered non – governmental organization operating in Kolkata and West Bengal Thus Calcutta Rescue was born.

In 1979, a British doctor, Jack Preger started a street clinic on Middleton Row, Park Street to treat the neediest and poorest of the people living on the streets and in the slums of Kolkata & parts of rural West Bengal. Calcutta Rescue is now a registered non-governmental organization. The charity provides free medical care, education, sanitation, employment and mental health support to the most deserving, needy & poor in Kolkata and parts of rural Bengal.

Knowledge empowers. Awareness protects.

Around 40 students between the ages of 12 and 16 participated in our Thalassemia Awareness Session, conducted by Calcutta Rescue in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Calcutta South Circle.

Through engaging discussions, students learned about thalassemia, the importance of early awareness, prevention, and how informed choices can help build healthier communities. Every conversation today is a step towards a more informed tomorrow.
