To mark World Environment Day, a unique photography exhibition titled "Contours of Climate Action: Our Planet, Our Lens" has opened in Kolkata. The exhibition is a collaborative initiative of the British Deputy High Commission Kolkata, IBSA, KCC, and KSCH, showcasing inspiring visual stories focused on environmental conservation, biodiversity, clean energy, and community-led efforts to combat climate change.
The exhibition was inaugurated on 9 June at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity. The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to East and Northeast India, along with several eminent personalities from diverse fields.
In addition to award-winning photographs selected from an international photography competition, the exhibition also features a special showcase by renowned nature photographers and acclaimed wildlife and nature documentary filmmakers. Their compelling works offer visitors a powerful perspective on the beauty of nature and the urgent need for environmental action.
Running until 13 June, the exhibition aims to raise awareness about climate change through the universal language of art and photography. It seeks to inspire individuals and communities to become more conscious, engaged, and proactive in protecting the environment and building a more sustainable future.
