To address growing mental health challenges faced by young students, the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) WB State Branch, the Indian Association of Private Psychiatry (IAPP) WB State Branch and Manovikas Kendra jointly hosted a seminar: ‘Understanding Challenges in Learning During Adolescence’.

Held on 11th September, 2026 at Manovikas Kendra, as part of Psycon 2026, the event brought together students, teachers and parents for meaningful conversations around mental health and well-being in schools. Kolkata’s leading psychiatrists shared invaluable insights on promoting mental health awareness among children and young people.

As part of PSYCON 2026, Manovikas Kendra, along with the Indian Psychiatric Society (WB State Branch) and IAPP (WB State Branch), came together to promote awareness around adolescent mental health and learning.

A meaningful conversation with students, parents, teachers and psychiatrists on emotional well-being and learning.

On September 2, Manovikas Kendra hosted a Free Eye Camp with the OneSight Foundation by EssilorLuxottica, bringing vision screening and eye care to our centre.

We’re grateful to have been part of this initiative and to see the impact that better vision can have on everyday learning, interaction and confidence.

Threads of Love, Bonds of Happiness

This Raksha Bandhan, our students celebrated the beautiful bonds of love, friendship and togetherness. Students across Manovikas Kendra made and tied handmade rakhis for one another, filling the day with smiles and warmth.

We are thrilled to announce that abiliTEA SHOP, an initiative by Manovikas Kendra, was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, 26th August, 2026 by the multi-talented actress, model, dancer and foodie, Sreenanda Shankar!

The day was filled with warmth, smiles, and incredible energy. Beyond cutting the ribbon, Sreenanda spent quality time with our wonderful students and joined them for a special lunch at abiliTEA CAFE. Her signature slogan ‘What’s for lunch?’ became the fun slogan of the day!

Come visit us, grab a cup of tea and experience the love and hard work our students pour into everything they do!

Sometimes, healing begins with a note. 🎶

Manovikas Kendra recently had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Abhradita Banerjee, an accomplished musician from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, for two enriching musical sessions with our students and staff. 🎶

Through Sargam and the beauty of Indian classical music, the sessions created a space for relaxation, mindfulness, connection, and joy, while offering a glimpse into the therapeutic possibilities of music.

It was an experience where every note became an opportunity to connect, engage, and simply pause and listen.
