On February 21, 2025, Pradan and Trickle Up, in collaboration with the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Government of , successfully hosted a 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 at Pashupalan Bhawan (Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Jharkhand) in .

The event brought together over 200 enthusiastic participants, including government officials, social entrepreneurs, experts, NGOs and women livestock farmers, to discuss the importance of small livestock in supporting extremely poor and vulnerable families.

❇️ Women farmers shared their transformational experiences in livestock rearing
❇️ Experts highlighted challenges, opportunities, and innovations in the sector.
❇️ The discussion also underscored the significance of policy support, training, market linkages and leveraging technology in enhancing sustainable livestock farming.

A big thank you to our esteemed speakers, panelists, and participants for their valuable insights and commitment to strengthening smallholder farmers' livelihoods.

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗨𝗽 and 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 (𝗝𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆) have been working together since 2015 with the overall goal to strengthen the inclusion and welfare of ultra-poor participants including Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) communities within the framework of National Rural Livelihood Mission ( ) through a replicable intervention model for enabling project participants to graduate out of ultra-poverty through the adoption of a variety of strategies adopted jointly by Palash (JSLPS) and Trickle Up.

While previous phases primarily focused on creating livelihood opportunities for ultra-poor households for the purpose of meeting their consumption needs, the most recent phase involved deeper and more qualitative individual input to increase income. This phase has also supported the collective establishment of livelihood activities through coaching and mentoring inputs and required market linkages, thus supporting participants’ upward trajectory through sustained higher income opportunities.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 - 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 (𝗣𝗩𝗧𝗚𝘀) 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁, 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟱 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 (𝗠𝗘𝗚𝘀), 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗨𝗽'𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗵.

This direct intervention encompassed a multi-pronged approach and a suite of activities including:

- Vision building, Formation and handholding of PVTG collectives for coming up with group micro enterprises;

- 15 Micro Enterprise Groups were formed engaging 300 PVTG participants in Non-timber Forest Products ( ), agri-produce, livestock and are operational through vision-building exercise;

- Capacity building of group enterprise members on enterprise development, management, and market linkage;

- Capacity building, coaching and psycho-social mentoring on livelihood diversification, income enhancement, savings and decision-making is ongoing with PVTG women in alignment with the program;

- Facilitating households for accessing entitlements and social protection programs.

Building on the successes and learnings of Project Goal, Trickle Up is now focused on developing a comprehensive design that further addresses the unique challenges faced by PVTGs and the ultra-poor, with a wider and deeper outreach. This will include various dimensions such as livelihood promotion, skill development, social inclusion, and access to essential services at scale.

This year’s theme, 'Listen to the Future,' calls our attention to the next generation - their aspirations, struggles, and capabilities in building a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world 🍀

At 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗨𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (TUIF), we partner with women in ultra poverty in to build economic opportunity and drive inclusion. Together with governments and local non-governmental organizations, we reach underserved women in remote, rural areas with programming that enables them to forge their own resilient pathways out of poverty for themselves, their families, and their communities. By leveraging the graduation approach and community level learning through TUIF's programming, Project Participants' incomes improve, household food and nutrition requirements are ensured, families can afford healthcare, and their lives take an upturn 🧡

In several instances, our Participants - having discovered their self-confidence and inner calling for advocacy, have been elected to local governing bodies, and have even saved schools from shutting down 🌟

This day is a reminder to keep supporting the collective promise and potential children hold in shaping their lives, communities and our world at large 🌏
