As part of our annual campaign & Nahi Shiksha-CACL , young participants at the Agarpara New Line Education Centre came together for a vibrant wall-painting activity to raise awareness on two important issues — and .

Through colorful artwork and creative expression, the children highlighted the importance of equal access to education and the urgent need to reduce plastic waste that harms our oceans and marine life. The wall paintings serve as a powerful reminder that every child deserves quality education, and every individual has a role to play in protecting our environment.

Youth-Led Session on Climate Change & World Malaria Day , Kamarhati ,25 April 2026
A powerful youth-led session was organized at Kamarhati with 25 enthusiastic young participants to discuss the connection between climate change, environmental protection, and public health in observance of World Malaria Day 2026.
Under the theme “Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must.”, young people explored how climate change increases the risks of mosquito-borne diseases and why protecting the environment is essential for building healthier communities.
Activities included:
Solution Tree Exercise
Poster Making
Interactive discussions on climate change and malaria prevention
The participants shared creative ideas on reducing plastic waste, protecting water bodies, tree plantation, community cleanliness, and spreading awareness among peers and communities.
The session highlighted that when youth understand the connection between the health of the planet and the health of people, they become strong leaders for change and sustainability.
Together, we move towards a cleaner, healthier, and malaria-free future.

Voice for Green Earth Campaign – Day 3

Day 3 of the “Voice for Green Earth” campaign was led by enthusiastic youth participants at Lake Gardens, focusing on creative expression for environmental protection and climate awareness.

The youths came together to prepare a powerful street skit highlighting environmental challenges such as plastic pollution, waste dumping, and the importance of protecting nature and community spaces. Through theatre and storytelling, they explored ways to spread awareness and inspire collective action for a cleaner and greener environment.

Alongside the skit preparation, a poster-making session was organized where young participants creatively expressed their thoughts, concerns, and solutions related to climate change, environmental justice, and sustainable living.

The activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and youth leadership while strengthening their voices for environmental protection and community awareness. 🌱✨

Voice for Green Earth Campaign – Day 2

Day 2 of the “Voice for Green Earth” campaign focused on Gender, Climate Change, and Social Justice through an interactive training session with youth participants.

The session helped young people understand gender discrimination, inequality, and violence through the lens of climate change and environmental challenges. Discussions highlighted how climate disasters, migration, loss of livelihood, and environmental stress often affect women, girls, and marginalized communities differently and increase their vulnerabilities.

Youth participants explored different perspectives on:
🌱 Gender roles and inequalities
🌱 Climate-induced vulnerabilities
🌱 Violence and discrimination during disasters and migration
🌱 Inclusion and equal participation in climate action
🌱 Building safer and more gender-responsive communities
The training created a safe space for dialogue, learning, and reflection, encouraging youth to connect climate justice with gender justice and community wellbeing.

Together, we continue raising voices for a greener, safer, and more inclusive future.

of the “ 2026
The “Voice for Green Earth” campaign was officially launched through a State Youth Consultation on Climate Change and Child Labour held on 21st April at Seva Kendra in collaboration with the Campaign Against Child Labour.

The consultation brought together 35 participants including youth leaders and representatives from 15 Civil Society Organizations working on different child rights issues across West Bengal.

Youth representatives from climate-vulnerable regions, especially the Sundarbans and rural areas, shared powerful realities of how climate change, cyclones, loss of livelihood, and forced migration are increasing the risks of child labour in cities like Kolkata. They highlighted how the forms and patterns of child labour are changing due to climate stress and environmental disasters.

The consultation became a strong platform for youth voices, collaboration, and collective action where organizations working on child rights, migration, environment, and community development came together to discuss solutions and strengthen partnerships.

During the day-long Plastic-Free Ganga Sagar Mela campaign at Babu Ghat, youth volunteers raised awareness against single-use plastic to protect Ganga Sagar Island, the river Ganga, and ocean life.

Through poster displays, public announcements (miking) and direct interaction with pilgrims, youths promoted responsible behaviour. Cloth bags were distributed, single-use plastic bags were collected, and a clean-up drive was carried out at the mela venue.

Together, youths took small but meaningful steps towards a cleaner and plastic-free Ganga Sagar Mela.

An awareness rally on dengue was organized by the at , where more than 1,000 people gathered to raise awareness on the growing threat of dengue. The rally witnessed active participation from staff of the Conservancy Department, Health and Hygiene Department, along with representatives from various non-government organizations. The Hon’ble Mayor of Kolkata was also present and addressed the gathering. Our youth members actively participated in the rally with placards and banners, spreading key messages on dengue prevention and public health. The rally highlighted the increasing impact of climate change on human health, particularly the rise in dengue cases in recent years, and emphasized the need for collective action, cleanliness, and preventive measures to control mosquito breeding.
