We are delighted to share a proud moment for the IEEE UEM Kolkata Student Chapter.
Our alumni, Soumik Baksi (Ex-Secretary, IEEE UEMK) and Sweta Karar (Ex-Web Lead, IEEE UEMK), represented our chapter at ETHGlobal New Delhi 2025, India’s largest hackathon, which brought together over 1900 developers from 25 countries.
After three years of consistent participation, learning, and perseverance, they reached the finals and stood on the podium at this global event — a remarkable achievement that fills our community with immense pride.
Their project, an AI-powered Trading Marketplace, was built with the vision of making trading more transparent and accessible. The platform enables new traders to follow and learn from experienced professionals by subscribing to AI-driven trading workflows, helping them invest and grow with understanding.
This success is the result of dedication, late-night brainstorming sessions, and an unshakeable belief in the idea of building something meaningful. Soumik and Sweta’s journey reflects the spirit of innovation and collaboration that IEEE UEM Kolkata continues to encourage among its members — to learn, build, and create real-world impact through technology.
We sincerely congratulate Soumik Bakshi and Sweta Karar on this outstanding achievement and thank them for carrying the name of IEEE UEM Kolkata to an international platform with such distinction.
Your journey inspires many current members to dream bigger and to keep learning and building with purpose.
