This fellowship was initiated by a group of young people from Scottish Church College in the year 2003. Soon after that the students of other surrounding colleges of the city like St. Paul’s College, St. Xavier’s College, Women Christian College, Moulana Azad College and other had also joined in. Nowadays even the high school students from the various city schools like St. Paul’s School, Assembly
of God Church School and others are also attending the fellowship regularly. KYF was started prayerfully as an independent establishment with an objective of pure evangelism among the College & High School level students in cooperation with various other denomination and organization to fulfill the goal of “Reaching out the unreached youths for Christ”. From the year 2003 – 2005 the fellowship and its activities was held in the residence of a Missionary of Presbyterian Mizo Synod who had open the door of his house to conduct the weekly fellowship and other activities. From the year 2005 – 2007 fellowship and its activities was shifted to the residence of the Leader of Jesus calls Prayer Tower of Kolkata. From the year 2008 onwards the fellowship further moved to its present location which is the residence of the Chairman of North East Human Care Society. From this year the fasting prayer and morning devotion was added to its curriculum. The fasting prayer is been playing an effective role in the life of the students and it’s also being held in the same place every second Saturday of the month. Morning Devotion is been successfully conducted by the Grace of God for last 2 years. The first year 2009 it was held in the residence of K.Y.F Worship Coordinator. Seeing the interest and growth in the number of students this morning devotion was shifted to the nearest Church “Christ Church” in the year 2010. God has also enable K.Y.F to conduct its Pre-Christmas Programme for lat 4 years starting from the year 2007 and it also had the joy to conduct its first Picnic in the Year 2010 which was a time of recreation, fun, outdoor fellowship and an effective tool to outreach many non Christian youths. This Year (20110 also we had great time of picnic by His grace. This fellowship is a self supported fellowship. So far the expense has been contributed by the students and well wishers who gave generously for the service of the Lord.
