A nutrition visit that didn’t end with the visit.
Our nutritionist conducted health assessments and awareness workshops at Shreeja centres with students and community members at both Rajnagar and Dhatrigram villages, while our peer leaders learned how to carry this knowledge forward. Today, girls are leading nutrition conversations in their own communities.

Celebrating 9 Years of Shreeja India 🤝💛
---------------------
Today, we mark 9 years of a journey built not by one organization alone, but by a powerful community.

Shreeja India stands strong because of the unwavering belief of our Shreeja girls, the trust of our donors ( Sachin Tendulkar Foundation The Intercultural Innovation Hub FIFA Foundation, , partners and well-wishers till date, the dedication of our team, and the support of our communities.

Together, we have created spaces where first-generation learner girls can play, learn, lead, and dream beyond limitations.
Every milestone we celebrate today is a shared achievement. Every opportunity created is a collective effort. Every success story belongs to all of us.

Thank you for walking this path with us, for investing in potential, standing for equity, and co-creating change.

A newspaper. A group of focused girls. A powerful shift.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

At Shreeja, our girls have started reading newspapers at the centres, an initiative that is steadily taking root. In villages where no one had ever read a newspaper before, our first-generation learner girls are now engaging with the world through the papers. Beyond reading, they are also building awareness, vocabulary, critical thinking, and becoming informed about knowledge beyond their immediate surroundings.

Small habits. Big change. Creation of pathways to informed and empowered futures.

Happy to share an important milestone and the journey of our girls’ football team at the 1st Savitri Fatima National Football Tournament, held on 24–25th December at Azim Premji University, Bangalore. The tournament brought together 9 organisations from across India, creating a wonderful opportunity for young women to connect, compete, and shine.
For many of our girls, it was their first trip outside West Bengal together, making it especially memorable.
On the first day, our girls came out strong with an impressive 7–0 win against Parcham, where Shiuli scored 5 goals and Kumkum and Poyramoni scored one each. Shiuli continued her excellent performance throughout the tournament, scoring a total of 10 goals and earning the highest scorer award. They kept up the momentum with another 7–0 victory against Jevandhara, followed by a 4–0 win against JVS, which took them straight into the semi-finals.
The second day was just as exciting. There was a fun coaches’ competition, and we are so proud that our coach, Sibham, won! Our girls then went on to win the semi-final 4–0 against Jabala, securing their place in the final. In the final, they played with determination and finished as 1st runner-up (0–2), proudly receiving their medals and certificates.
Beyond the scores, the girls gained confidence, strengthened their teamwork, and grew as young leaders. Thank you for making moments like this possible and helping them dream bigger.

As we wrap up 2025, we step into 2026 with hope and belief in our Shreeja girls.
Every field we step onto, every hand we hold, and every dream we nurture reminds us that when girls are given space to dream, courage to play, and support to grow, real change begins.
Here’s to building safe, inclusive spaces, breaking barriers, and walking alongside Shreeja girls as they discover their strength, on and beyond the field.
Thank you to our donors, partners, teaching and non-teaching staff, coaches, Shreeja students, and communities for walking this journey with us.
Happy New Year 2026.

Little Feelings, Big Learning!
As part of our ongoing mental health initiatives under Vidushee, a series of age-appropriate classes on emotion identification and regulation were conducted for our youngest Vidushee children (ages 4–10). Early childhood is a critical period for building emotional awareness, and many children are experiencing big feelings without having the words or tools to express them. This initiative was designed to help children recognize, name, and safely express their emotions, laying a strong foundation for long-term mental well-being.
Through stories, drawings, movement, games, and playful discussions, children explored emotions like happy, sad, angry, and scared - learning that all feelings are natural and manageable. The activities were thoughtfully implemented by Vidushee teachers, who were first trained and supported under expert supervision, ensuring sensitive, inclusive, and child-friendly facilitation.
By introducing mental health literacy early, we aim to nurture emotionally resilient, empathetic, and confident children, and create learning spaces where every child feels seen, heard, and supported. 🌱

Leadership found its voice through theatre-based awareness
----------------------------------------------
Shreeja India, in collaboration with banglanatak dot com, conducted a theatre-based training for our Peer leaders at our Rajnagar, Birbhum Centre.

Across two training phases, including a residential training module, 30 senior girls learned to identify their community issues, create scripts, and perform solution-based skits. This led to Shreeja India’s first community-level theatre intervention in Keledhi village, with performances in Bengali and Ol chiki (Santhali) on women empowerment and gender equity

Our Girls spoke up in public spaces. Communities listened and responded:
“We will support the girls.”
“Stop early child marriage.”
“We will educate our daughters.”

Heartfelt thanks to Banglanatak dot com, our incredible teachers and peer leaders.

Our deepest gratitude to The Intercultural Innovation Hub, Sachin Tendulkar Foundation , , , FIFAFoundation who as donors, made this initiative possible.

This is not just theatre.
This is change in action.

When one girl rises, an entire community rises with her
--------------------------------
We are incredibly proud to share that our Shreeja girl, Swapna Tudu, has once again representing Team Bengal at the Khelo India Under-19 Youth Games in Rajasthan!

A true moment of joy for all of us at Shreeja India.
Swapna, lovingly known as our Debi began her journey with us at the very inception of Shreeja India Dhatrigram. With years of dedicated training, strong mentorship, life-skills learning, and academic support, she has blossomed into:
· A national-level footballer
· A university student at Adamas University through a sports quota scholarship
· A young leader shaping her community’s future
Today, she is balancing professional sport and higher education with incredible grit and grace.
But Swapna’s story isn’t just about where she is going. It's about who she is bringing along with her. As a Vidushee teacher and Peer Leader, Swapna continues to teach younger children through sport-based education, showing how one empowered girl becomes the catalyst for many more.
