Israel has announced plans to install a grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, marking a significant cultural tribute to the legendary Maratha warrior king.
The announcement was made by Israel’s Consul General in Mumbai on the occasion of Shiv Rajyabhishek Din, which commemorates Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation on June 6, 1674. The initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties between India and Israel while introducing Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy of leadership, courage, governance, and military strategy to the Israeli public.
According to reports, the proposed statue will serve as a symbol of the growing friendship between the two nations. The Maharashtra government has also extended support for the project, which is expected to become a major cultural landmark in Israel.
More than 350 years after his coronation, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj continues to inspire people around the world with his vision of Swarajya, strategic brilliance, and leadership.
