🇮🇳 Independence Day – Celebrating Freedom Through Service 🇮🇳
On the auspicious occasion of the 80th Independence Day of India, Rotary Club of Calcutta Kankurgachi reaffirmed its commitment to the spirit of Service Above Self through three meaningful initiatives touching different aspects of community welfare.
💧 Supporting Access to Drinking Water
An electric water pump was donated to Bidyadhari Vidyalaya, Salt Lake, to facilitate easier and more convenient access to drinking water for the students and the school community. This practical intervention addresses a basic need and contributes towards a healthier and more comfortable learning environment.
♿ Supporting Dignity and Mobility
A wheelchair was donated to Rehana Bibi of Haldia, helping her with greater mobility and independence in her daily life. The wheelchair was handed over to her husband, Rofik Shek Ali, at Baranagore.
📚 Empowering Through Education
The Club continues its commitment towards girl-child education by sponsoring the education of Shivangi Sarkar, a Class I student. The Club has supported her annual admission and books with ₹4,000 and is also sponsoring her quarterly school fees of ₹1,800. Her school fees for July–September were handed over to her in the presence of her father, Mahadeb Sarkar, at Baranagore.
Three initiatives, three different needs, but one common purpose — to make a positive difference in people's lives through service, compassion and opportunity.
On a day when we celebrate the freedom and progress of our nation, Rotary Club of Calcutta Kankurgachi chose to celebrate by giving back to society and creating lasting impact. 🇮🇳❤️
Freedom becomes truly meaningful when it enables every individual to live with dignity, opportunity and hope.
