With immense pride and deep emotion, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Kankurgachi Welfare Trust, in association with the Rotary Club of Calcutta Kankurgachi, marks the successful completion of the first phase of its dream project — GYANALOK E AGAMI.
What was once just a vision has now taken a meaningful shape. Two classrooms have been lovingly renovated, a pair of cheerful swings now welcome little laughter, and the entire school area has been transformed with care and dignity. Today, it stands with a renewed identity as Vivekananda Rotary Sishu Sikshaniketan, Indas, Bankura — a place where hope, learning, and joy will grow together.RC Calcutta Kankurgachi Welfare Trust & RC Calcutta Kankurgachi will remain thankful to the Principal & school administration for their kind cooperation towards the project.
This transformation was not just about infrastructure… it was about touching lives.
Our hearts overflow with gratitude.
To Smt. Rupa Poddar, whose generous and compassionate support beautifully restored the classrooms, in loving memory of her parents, Late Banani Poddar and Late Rathindranath Poddar — your gesture has turned memories into blessings for countless children.
To Rtn. Nomit Mutsuddi, whose thoughtful contribution of a pair of swings, in loving memory of his father, Late Taritkanti Mutsuddi, has added not just play—but smiles, excitement, and a reason for children to come to school every single day.
Because sometimes, education begins with joy.
The presence of Club President Rtn. Ranjana Mutsuddi, Trust President Rtn. Supriyo Lodh, and fellow members along with their families made the occasion even more special—filled with warmth, togetherness, and a shared sense of purpose. The fellowship, the journey, and the smiles made it more than a project… it became a memory to cherish.
The Curtain Raising Ceremony of this adopted school was not just an inauguration—it was the beginning of a promise.
A promise to nurture.
A promise to uplift.
A promise to stand beside those who need us the most.
This being the first-ever sustainable literacy initiative through school adoption by RCCKWT, it is truly a moment where the spirit of Rotary shines brighter than ever… making the flag of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Kankurgachi fly high—with pride, purpose, and profound impact...

Overall a big Salute to the Mastermind Man behind the curtain.. the planner of the project.. CLF AG PP Supriyo Lodh..

Rotary Club of Calcutta Kankurgachi is all set to unveil its gala and remarkable Literacy Project — “Gyanalok – E Agami.”
An initiative that would have remained incomplete without the unwavering support of our dear Friends of Rotary, especially Madam Rupa Poddar, whose generous contribution has been truly invaluable. This project stands as a light of hope for a brighter tomorrow.
With the thoughtful support of our Club Editor-cum-President Nominee, ensuring that learning blends beautifully with children’s joy and amusement, this initiative becomes even more meaningful and impactful.
As I step into my upcoming Rotary journey, “Gyanalok – E Agami” will remain a constant source of strength, courage, and inspiration.
With deep humility, I bow in gratitude to a prestigious trio whose guidance continues to illuminate my path — CLF PP Supriyo, Mentor PP Gour, and IPP Indrajit. Their wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering support are the pillars behind this endeavour.
“Not just a first, but a milestone—transforming lives through the power of literacy.”
