Observance of Mahatma Gandhi's 156th Birth Anniversary (02.10.2025):

To commemorate the occasion of the 156th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Sangrahalaya organized a short programme at the premises of the Sangrahalaya, accompanied by the local citizens of Barrackpore and it's adjacent areas due to present ambience of Vijaya Dashami. The programme was started by paying the tribute to Gandhijithrough garlanding on His photograph.. and it was followed by the Welcome Address, delivered by the Director-Secretary of the Sangrahalaya. The renowned citizens of Barrackpore, who were attended the programme, delivered their valuable speeches one by one to pay tribute to Gandhiji. At the end of the programme, one of the favorite hymn of Mahatma Gandhi 'Vaishnaba Janate' was heard.

For this year the Sangrahalaya will also organize the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Oration after the Puja vacation will over during the last week of October, 2025.

A group of students member of Barrackpore Group of Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides, Sealdah District Association had visited the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya today. They were provided the guided tour in different galleries of the museum to explain the information about the exhibits, displayed in museum. A documentary film show on Indian Freedom Movement was also shown to them after visiting the museum.
