As we celebrate the 17th Foundation Day of Rupantaran Foundation today, we take this moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have stood beside us throughout this journey.

This year’s Foundation Day celebration is especially meaningful for us. On 16th and 17th May, children, youth, and women associated with Rupantaran are celebrating the occasion in their own villages and locations across the Sundarbans. The warmth and spirit of nearly 35 such community celebrations are already making this milestone deeply emotional and beautiful. These gatherings are not merely events — they are reflections of relationships, trust, belonging, and collective dreams nurtured over the years.

Today Rupantaran team will come together to share stories of transformation — stories of how communities changed, how people grew, and how this journey shaped each one of us. It will be a space of memories, reflections, gratitude, laughter, and renewed commitment in an intimate storytelling space.

As we step into the 17th year of our journey, we carry immense gratitude for every individual, organisation, friend, volunteer, donor, partner, and well-wisher who believed in our work and walked beside us. Thank you for being an integral part of the Rupantaran's journey.

Sometimes a visit and a heartfelt conversation with a child who is struggling to continue her education can be magical.

A few words of encouragement, listening to her story can inspire her to keep going and choose education over child marriage.

In Rupantaran, we believe that along with educational support, every child needs care, guidance, and someone who believes in her future.

Rupantaran Foundation was delighted to participate in Kolkata Climate Fest 2026. The event brought together policymakers, researchers, CSR professionals, civil society organisations, and young people from across West Bengal who are working on or interested in climate action.

Silpa Sanyal, Program Manager at Rupantaran Foundation, presented our work in the Sundarbans during the panel discussion titled “Where the West Bengal Climate Stands Through a Community Governance Lens.” The session highlighted community-driven approaches and local governance in addressing climate challenges.

We look forward to sharing our experiences and good practices on many more platforms like this in the future and continuing to contribute to collective climate action in West Bengal.
