*Annual Picnic*&AGM
of Kolkata Kinjal Members

We have our Annual General Meeting [AGM] followed by Annual Picnic on 24th December 2025 at Eco-Urban Village, a location which most of our members have been preferring.

In line with earlier few years the same will be followed by the Annual Picnic. All our members are cordially requested to be a party to this annual event. Members may also join with their friends and relatives to make the occasion more colourful. Arrangements will the there at the venue for breakfast [commencing 9:30am]; Post AGM there will be arrangements for some snacks & tea along with some fun making events/activities and thereafter Lunch.

While all requisite arrangements for the event are being made by KK, members shall have to make a nominal contribution @ ₹ 550/- per person; whereas the friends/relatives/guests of the members joining the event shall have to contribute @ ₹ 650/-.

Members are request to register their name with Mrs. Enakshi Dutta Choudhury stating:
[i] Number of persons joining
[ii] Choice of food viz Chicken/Fish/Veg for each of the person, so that necessary arrangements can be made effectively without any confusion.

The contribution for the above may please be made to KK’s Bank a/c with UCO Bank,Baguihati
Please do share the transaction slip to Mr. Sisir Sarkar to enable him reconcile with the bank statement

*It has been observed in the past that some of the members want to sponsor/provide some of the items during the picnic. Members interested to do so are requested to please inform at the earliest so that necessary arrangements can be made.

"Saarthak"
Today HelpAge India organised a community based initiative on "Mental wellness" program with Kolkata Kinjal members at Kalyan Ashram premises ,Chetla, Alipore ,Kolkata 27,marking the "World Alzheimer's Day".
The Interactive session was conducted by Dr.Arkita Pal and well-known expert.The session which was informative and provided interesting facts about "Mental Wellness", was attended and greatly appreciated by Kolkata Kinjal members.

HelpAge India has planned for an exclusive programme for Kolkata Kinjal Members.

*There are many Senior Citizens organizations in Kolkata, but such opportunity they extend to very limited organizations. This is primarily because HelpAge has observed that KK members are an educated & quite participative group*

As circulated earlier HelpAge is organizing an _Alzheimer’s Awareness Program at Kalyan Ashram on Friday, 10th October 2025, from 2:00 PM onwards_ However, there has to be a minimum number of participation say around 25 person.

_There shall be bus facility with pick-up and drop points at Airport Gate no. 3,Theghoria, Baguiati, Ultadanga, Bypass-Baliaghata crossing, Rubi Crossing, Gariahat crossing & Deshapriya Park crossing; subject to confirmation by attending members_
All members are requested to attend, avail the Bus facility as earlier informed them . Tomorrow on 10th October 2025

On 31st May 2025,6PM, Another "Kolkata Kinjal Meet" Remembering "Kobiguru Rabindranath & Kobi Nazrul" at Raghunathpur with Member's Participation in Singing,Recitation,Story Telling, Review on "Rakta Karbi"(Written by Rabindranath Tagor) on today's scenario, Shruti natok "Ol Chingri" Enjoyed by members with tea and snacks specially "Aloo Chaat" made By Our Mejdi 😊
Special Thanks Shambhunath Sarkar Gifted a Book " Bihanga Samachar" written by him to Kolkata Kinjal members.

Yes it was a fun day for around 55 members of Kolkata Kinjal The Picnic day With AGM at Eco Urban Village, New Town
Becides the Picnic organiser Team A heartfelt thanks to Mr Sishir Sarkar for Delicious Food,Mr. Mihir Chatterjee for the joyful AI Learning Session for all, Mr Ananda Sengupta for Fun games. It was really great fun for all .🙏🏻

"Mental Health" Workshop on 05.12.24 11AM to 2.00PM as Organised by at Kalyan Ashram Chetla,Kolkata.30+Members of Kolkata Kinjal attended the, interactive ,Informative and useful workshop.
We are indeed thankful to all the members of KK in making today’s programme a grand success by joining in reasonable numbers, though for medial reasons and under some other compulsions we missed some more of our intending members in today’s session.

While HelpAge India attempts to organize programmes based on their the periodically changing theme as decided by their headquarter, but by attending such programmes in good numbers there are distinct benefits to KK as well viz
[a] members benefit by takeaways from such informative and enlightening subjects
[b] it provides KK and edge to interact with a large organization like HelpAge on various matters which in turn would benefit KK and its members.

Exclusivly For Kolkata Kinjal members:-
India has proposed to hold a programme exclusively for the members of Kolkata Kinjal; it pertains to the *Mental wellness among older population*.

The programme is being planned to be organised *in the 5th of December at the HelpAge India facility at Kalyan Ashram, Chetla*. Kalyan Ashram is very conveniently located near Chetla Park and can easily be commuted from Rashbihari Crossing. Bus services may also be arranged by HelpAge India with definite pick-up points at pre-defined time.

The communication as received from HelpAge India is reproduced below:

_The need of mental wellness among the older population has emerged strikingly during the pandemic. With the support of WHO, we assessed the mental health of the older population. The study revealed 60 % elderly had mild to moderate depression and more than 40 % had generalized anxiety. Taking the issue forward, on 1st October 2022, HelpAge India has launched an initiative “Saarthak-“A community based initiative for mental well- being of the elderly”_.
