Fondazione l'Albero della Vita

Fondazione l'Albero della Vita Fondazione L'Albero della Vita (FADV) is an international NGO headquartered in Milan-Italy.

Way back in the Christmas of 1996, a group of like-minded men and women united by the fireside in Assi and gave birth to Fondazione L’Albero della Vita (FADV). They had a strong desire to find a purpose to live more meaningful lives. They strongly desired to make differences in lives of children and youth living in difficult conditions. In April 1997, FADV was established as an international NGO h

eadquartered in Milan - Italy. Since its establishment, FADV has been working in Italy and internationally to ensure well-being of children and for their rights. The organization has taken effective actions to create conditions for a dignified life by providing food, care and medical treatment to children and a safe enabling environment for their growth. FADV’s commitment for protection and promotion of human rights is in accordance to the guidelines of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Child (UNCRC). FADV works towards improving the family and social system in which a child exists and towards creating a safe environment for his/her effective growth. Internationally, FADV’s operational area currently includes Italy, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Romania, Peru, Kenya and Haiti. In India, FADV has been working in West Bengal, Assam and Odisha since July 2004. We, at FADV envision a world without poverty where children can enjoy their rights, are empowered, grow without abuse and violence and are free to express their hearts. In India, FADV has been working in the three thematic areas of Child Protection and Education, Livelihoods and Humanitarian and Disaster Risk Management since the start of its journey. We work worldwide with programmes that provide thousands of children in need access to education, health and protection. In India, FADV also works against child trafficking, child marriage and social exclusion. FADV promotes sustainability through various livelihood opportunities and facilities for humanitarian assistance and disaster risk reduction. Our Vision

L’Albero della Vita strives to achieve a world where every single person is free to seek a greater awareness of him/herself and of his/her own purpose in this world; it works towards the achievement of a self-education process aimed at the continuous improvement of oneself and of one’s own contexts of reference. A world where the dignity of childhood is recognized and which it is entitled to as well as its own genuine potential regarding innovation and its contribution to be safeguarded and developed within every environment by means of coherent approaches and appropriate methodologies. L’Albero della Vita’s vision of man and of what he/she is capable of becoming has been inspired by the “Pedagogy for the Third Millennium” principles and approaches of the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation for Development and Communication. Our Mission

Since its foundation, L’Albero della Vita has committed itself to promoting effective actions aimed at ensuring well-being, protecting and promoting rights, encouraging the development of children, their families and the communities to which they belong, both in Italy and in the world.

🇬🇧 Fondazione Albero della Vita, in collaboration with the Day Care Centre of Baruipur – our centre for children with disabilities – organizes home visits throughout the year for children who are unable to reach the centre due to distance or economic difficulties. For some families, reaching the centre would mean facing hours of travel on public transportation.

Home visits allow the physiotherapist to gain a deeper understanding of each child’s living environment, assess their specific needs, and identify the most appropriate tools and equipment to support their rehabilitation journey.

Because we believe that ensuring access to care is the first step towards equality and inclusion.

🇬🇧In the heart of the tea plantations of West Bengal, FADV carries out educational projects dedicated to the children attending the Learning Centers in the village of Gairkata.

Through non-formal education activities, we work to develop life skills, ensure access to inclusive education, and provide safe spaces where children can express themselves through play, strengthening their physical and psychological well-being.

This area of West Bengal is marked by socio-economic vulnerabilities such as limited access to basic services, low wages, precarious working conditions, and issues related to alcohol abuse.

Here, education becomes a tool for protection, growth, and hope.

It was a great pleasure to exhibit the traditional handicrafts of the Assamese Karbi ethnic group to the public in such a prestigious museum. We are delighted to have met you and to see your interest in this culture.

We invite you to visit our office, where you can view the various pieces of clothing and ornaments on display at the exhibition.

🇬🇧
Our Learning Centres aren’t just a place of scholastic learning, but also a place where they can develop life skills. Our volunteers went to the North of West Bengal, to visit one of our partner and conducted activities to sensitise children about a healthy life-style, through phisical activity and food culture, involving students in interactive lessons and creative games.
