Meaningless or meaningful?

What's your life like right now? 🤔

Are you chasing after relationships, success, dreams or your career or are you living out Jesus' will for your life?

The answer to this question determines whether your life is filled with joyful purpose or aimless drifting.

Here's an equation to help you put things into perspective:

Jesus ✝️ + Something Else 🏆 = Nothing⭕️

BUT...

Jesus ✝️ + Nothing Else⭕️= Everything ❤️‍🔥

There's room for only one thing on the throne of your heart.

Whom or what you seat there, will direct the course of your life.

Choose wisely. 🙏🏼

What drives you lurks deep within.

👑 The need for approval.
👑 Wanting to be better than others.
👑 Job-related success.
👑 Accomplishing personal dreams and ambitions.

If you are not careful these can turn into "masters" that secretly rule over your life.
You will end up using Jesus as a means to gratify an end.

You will want Him only to bless you instead of accepting His will for your life. (Spoiler alert: which may not involve making your every wish come true).

Don't root your identity in these fragile things --- you'll head for disaster.
Instead, find your true worth and value as God's child in His Word.

Psalm 139 is a perfect example of how well God knows our hearts, but it also reveals how much He thinks of us and plans for us.

When you feel these "masters" displacing Jesus from the throne of your heart, turn to Psalm 139 and reclaim your identity as someone whom God knows intimately and for whom He cares. 🙏🏼

Don't be controlled by your hidden masters, let Jesus, the true Master, control and shape you and the desires of your heart.

In fact, the Bible has its share of sweet meet-cutes at the well (or wilderness 🫣) as well as loving long-term marriages that have withstood storms. 😀

Think:
🫶🏽 Abraham & Sarah
🫶🏽 Isaac & Rebekah
🫶🏽 Jacob & Rachel
🫶🏽 Salomon & Rahab
🫶🏽 Boaz & Ruth
🫶🏽 Zachariah & Elizabeth
🫶🏽 Priscilla & Aquilla
🫶🏽 Moses & Zipporah

They all had God-defined relationships with the opposite s*x.

That's what the Father Heart of God is for His children, even today.

He does not endorse "no-label" relationships.

God thought Love was necessary when He made Man [Genesis 2:18] and when He instituted the covenant of marriage [Genesis 2:24]. But He also knew it could be abused. So He made guidelines to keep it holy and acceptable to Him. He "rightly ordered" it.

Think of a relationship as a covenant or promise.

It conveys sincere intention, trust and responsibility.

But what if you're afraid you'll never be able to live up to any of those requirements? 😞

Remember! By keeping God Himself as the Glue in your relationship, you'll definitely be able to stick it out! 🙌

All You've Ever Wanted

What do you think about the most?
What do you fear losing?
What controls your life?

That’s what you worship.

We often build our lives on good things - family, career, money, even our phones and social media. But when good things become ultimate things, they become idols or counterfeit gods. But nothing created can be a firm foundation to build our lives on.

So we must recognize our idols, remove them, and replace them with Christ - because if we don’t, they will take His place.

Our worth isn’t found in success, approval, or possessions - it’s found in Christ alone.
