The trust was founded by Late Kamala Debi (Roy), the eldest daughter of Late Prof O.C.Gangoly, the art-critic and historian, in the year 1998. She formed the trust in memory of her husband Late Rabindranath Roy with a view to promote Indian art and pursue charitable activities. In recent times, the trust has devoted itself to republish the rare art books authored by Late Prof Dr.O.C
Gangoly which

would not only spread Indian art in the society but in turn would assist raising funds to continue its charitable activities simultaneously.
