James’ School Alumni Association, is a Society registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. Marcus Rodrick (Student of St. James’ School and Former Senior Headmaster and Vice Principal), and approached the Principal at the time - Mr. Daryl Bloud, who was from the very start very open to concept of having the former students of the School, united under one banner, and hoped th

at the various talents and scope that the students possessed, would be put to serving the School and Country undaunted. The Society, has been growing steadily over the years, and has now above 320 members. The society holds the Independence Cup - football played (player with four house teams, one prefects’ team, one senior staff teams, one service staff teams two alumni teams and one parents teams) on School grounds on 15th August every year. These games have always got the former students, staff, present students to a common platform and spread the message of the School’s well being and the Societies existence. Since the beginning, the Society also started hosting the Annual Dinner. In the first year, Mr. Daryl Bloud had all the classrooms opened, and lightened, which was a great step in creating nostalgia, for the students visiting the school, on that day. Over the years, the Society has co-sponsored various functions, treatments, which involved the school or former students. The members of the Alumni, are encouraged to be present at the Founder’s Day Service, held on the 25th day of July, every year. Students of class 12, are encouraged to join the Alumni, with the help of the School authorities, like the teachers, prefects etc.]

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the untimely passing of Jacobean Avijit Basak (ISC 1992), who left us on the night of 25th June 2026.
Avijit's sudden passing has come as a great shock to the St. James' family. A beloved Jacobean, he will be remembered by his classmates, teachers, and friends for the bonds he shared and the memories he helped create during his years at St. James' School.
On behalf of the St. James' School Alumni Association, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this time of immense grief. May God grant them strength and comfort, and may Avijit's soul rest in eternal peace.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten. Rest in Peace, Avijit Da.

❤️ THANK YOU FOR HELPING SAVE LIVES ❤️
The St. James' School Alumni Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to our respected Principal Dr. T. H. Ireland for graciously permitting us to host our Annual Blood Donation Camp and for the unwavering support extended by the school administration, school staff and the restaurant staffs who joined hands in this endeavour.

We are deeply thankful to all our generous blood donors whose selfless contribution made this event a tremendous success. Together, we collected an incredible 180 units of blood , which has the potential to save up to 540 lives . Every donation is a gift of hope and a chance at life for someone in need. All donors were presented with a Donor Certificate and provided with refreshments and a packed lunch as a token of appreciation for their noble act.

We would also like to thank our valued sponsors for their generous support:
Oasis Restaurant, Chai BREAK, The Yellow Straw, Gupta Brothers, ctrl.print, Piccadilly Square, Fruiters, JustUniform, and Jeevan Rekha.

A very special thank you to Jacobean Pratap Daryanani for taking the lead in organizing this event and ensuring its smooth ex*****on. We also express our sincere appreciation to the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), Kolkata Chapter, for partnering with the St. James' School Alumni Association in this meaningful initiative.

Together, we proved once again that when a community comes together with compassion and purpose, lives can be transformed.
