🎉 BIG NEWS! Childlife Preserve Shishur Sevay is again an official NGO Partner of the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K Run for 2026! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
DISABILITY: TO IDENTIFY. TO IMPROVE. TO INCLUDE.
Founded in 2006, Shishur Sevay was built on a simple belief: children, including the ones with severe disabilities, should have the opportunity to thrive, not merely survive.
Today, 14 orphaned and abandoned girls—both with and without disabilities—live together in a family-style, inclusive home in Kolkata.
For the girls with disabilities, inclusion means access to physiotherapy, outdoor activities, assistive communication technology like Tobii, skill development, meaningful responsibilities and, most importantly, the dignity of being heard and included.
Our goal is not simply to care for them. Inclusion means they are never isolated, always among us in the room, hearing our conversation and taking part however they can.
Every step you take at the TSW25k Run helps us continue working towards:

"Years ago while in Frankfurt I found some very sensitive soft touch switches I brought them home and got an electrical box made so the children could have the ability to turn on and off lights, the fan or sound.
It's one of the key abilities we seek, to be able to have some control over our environment. They are still learning as are we."
