✨ A Day Full of Smiles, Stories & Second Chances! ✨

On 10th September 2026, South Kolkata Hamari Muskan came alive with the vibrant energy of our Flea Market! 🛍️💛

From beautiful pre-loved and new clothes to handmade jewellery, delicious food, and much more—the market was buzzing with enthusiasm, laughter and community spirit.

But this was more than just a market. ❤️

At SKHM, we believe that nothing should simply be given away for free when it can be offered with dignity and value. Every item at our flea market is available at a nominal and affordable price. Because when something is completely free, its perceived value can sometimes diminish. A small contribution, however, creates a sense of choice, ownership and respect for the person receiving it.

Every purchase therefore carries a little more meaning—it supports dignity, sustainability and empowerment, while also giving good-quality pre-loved items a new home and reducing waste.

Our flea market is a celebration of the belief that festivals and happiness should belong to everyone. It brings people together, makes essential and festive items accessible, encourages reuse and, most importantly, spreads Muskan (smiles). 🌸

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited, participated, supported and helped make the day so special. Together, we continue to turn simple purchases into meaningful change. 💫

Because sometimes, a small price can preserve a big sense of dignity. ❤️

🕊️ A World Built on Peace:

Highlights from the SKHM Annual Education Fair 2026

Education goes far beyond the four walls of a classroom—it empowers young minds to question, reflect, and advocate for a better world.
On July 14, 2026, South Kolkata Hamari Muskan (SKHM) held its flagship Annual Education Fair at Gour Memorial Athletic Club, Bowbazar. Bringing together students from our Bowbazar and Sovabazar and Howrah centres.
This year’s fair explored a deeply poignant theme:

“War Through the Eyes of a Child”

Walking Through the Narrative
The venue was transformed into an immersive symbolic experience, taking visitors through three thoughtful experiential zones:

🌍 Zone I: The Causes of War – Unpacking complex global issues like political conflicts, territorial disputes, and resource competition through interactive models, maps, and timelines.

💔 Zone II: The Human Cost of War – Highlighting the devastating realities of displacement, trauma, loss of childhood, and the human toll on innocent civilians.

🕊️ Zone III: A Future Beyond War – Imagining a world anchored in education, environmental sustainability, human rights, and social harmony.

Interdisciplinary Learning in Action
Our young learners approached the topic by integrating eight core academic subjects—including English, Psychology, Political Science, Biology, Physical Science, EVS, Geography, and History—demonstrating how interconnected knowledge is when addressing real-world challenges.

A Community United for Change
With over 150 visitors in attendance, the event sparked meaningful dialogue among students, parents, community members, and visiting schools including Swamiji Vidyapeeth, Bowbazar High School, Lee Collins School, and Baranagar Rajkumari Memorial Girls' High School.

We were deeply honored to welcome distinguished guests and academicians, including Dr. Ramendra Lal Mukherjee, Tathagata Marik, Prof. Nirmal Duari, Ramesh Chandran, Swagata Das, Rittik Das, Subhraprakash Kajali, and Gautam De. Their engaging interactions gave our students immense confidence, nurturing critical thinking, empathy, and leadership skills.

To mark a decade of transforming lives, Project ENLIGHT hosted a dynamic panel discussion and unveiled a commemorative coffee table book at its 10th Anniversary Celebration on July 17, 2026. Held at Kolkata’s Satyajit Ray Auditorium (ICCR), the showcase highlighted ten years of empowering adolescent girls from vulnerable communities—a mission driven by the partnership of Capgemini, Aide et Action India (AeA-India), and South Kolkata Hamari Muskan.

Science, math, and history have never been this much fun! 🧪✨ 33 students from our Bowbazar and Sovabazar centres joined forces for an unforgettable Summer Camp 2026.
From creating "milk art" through surface tension to solving math equations in a blindfold race, our young learners showed incredible teamwork and critical thinking.
A huge shoutout to Group 5, our Summer Camp Champions with 110 points! 🏆 Everyone walked away a winner with special mementos to remember these two days of discovery.
