CREDAI Kolkata felicitated Shri Manoj Kumar Agarwal, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal, for his exemplary service.
The felicitation was led by Shri Apurva Salarpuria, President, CREDAI Kolkata, along with office bearers Shri Ashok Saraf and Shri Pramod Ranjan Dwivedi and former presidents Shri Sushil Mohta, Shri Nandu Belani and immediate past president Shri Sidharth Pansari.
In his address, the Chief Secretary highlighted that the state government is very open-minded and that 90% of reforms will be undertaken quickly. He invited CREDAI Kolkata to highlight best practices so that the government can onboard them.
He noted that with the change in political leadership, the new government is very open to development, with many new projects on the anvil. He further noted that real estate will have to support the construction of hospitals, malls, hotels, offices and industrial estates alongside housing needs and therefore construction activity across the state will see phenomenal growth in the near future with new infrastructure coming up.
He added that while real estate has taken the heat in the last few months, owing to the government's bid to induct transparency and compliance through audit measures following the Taratala tragedy, the next few months will be transformative.
The programme was attended by a large number of members alongwith CREDAI Youth Wing members.
On this occasion, the Chief Secretary released our new coffee table book "Kolkata 2.0: Building for What Comes Next" — a vision document on how Kolkata's real estate is collectively shaping Bengal's growth and urban future. The book also features profiles of members who volunteered to be part of the book and the positive impact of CREDAI membership on their journey.
