Our recent exposure visit to Gosaba at Pathankhali GP brought together our dedicated resource farmers to learn from successful models of climate-resilient agriculture. The visit provided valuable insights into sustainable farming practices, climate adaptation, soil and water management, diversified cropping, and community-led agricultural innovations.

What made this experience truly special was the enthusiasm of our farmers to learn, exchange ideas, and explore practical solutions that can strengthen agriculture in the Sundarbans. We are proud to see them returning with renewed confidence and a shared commitment to applying these learnings in their own villages.

Building a climate-resilient Sundarbans is only possible through collective action. Every farmer who adopts sustainable practices contributes to improving food security, protecting natural resources, and creating a better future for the next generation.

Together, we are nurturing resilient farms, empowered communities, and a greener Sundarbans.

Today, we proudly observed International Mangrove Conservation Day with a series of community-led initiatives to strengthen awareness and action for protecting our coastal ecosystems.

We planted mangrove saplings to restore vulnerable coastal areas and enhance natural protection against erosion and cyclones.

Children enthusiastically participated in a Sit & Draw Competition, expressing their love and concern for mangroves through creative artwork.

We also organised community awareness sessions, engaging local residents on the vital role of mangroves in conserving biodiversity, supporting livelihoods, reducing disaster risks, and building climate resilience.

Mangroves are more than just trees—they are the lifeline of our coastal communities. Protecting them today means securing a safer, greener, and more resilient tomorrow.

Together, let us continue to conserve, restore, and celebrate our mangrove ecosystems.

In Kultali, farmers are adapting to climate change through the Ridge and Furrow model. Raised ridges support crop cultivation, while furrows drain excess rainwater, store moisture for dry periods, and enable fish farming during the monsoon.
By combining multiple cropping with climate-smart farming practices, farmers are improving soil health, increasing productivity, strengthening nutrition, and creating more resilient livelihoods.
Together, these nature-based solutions are building a greener, stronger, and more sustainable future for the Sundarbans.

Every high tide reminds us how vulnerable the Sundarbans is to riverbank erosion and saltwater intrusion. At Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha (BTS), we are working with nature to protect communities through vetiver grass, coir mats, bamboo reinforcements, and mangrove plantations.

With 700,000+ mangrove saplings planted and 5 km of nature-based river embankment protection established across 90 vulnerable locations, these initiatives are helping safeguard livelihoods, restore biodiversity, and strengthen climate resilience.

Together, we can build a future where nature protects people, and communities thrive in harmony with their environment.

In the Sundarbans, a village pond is more than just a water body—it is a source of livelihood, nutrition, and hope.

Through our *Pond-Based Fishery Initiative* in *Kultali Block, we are supporting **475 households* to transform underutilized ponds into productive assets. From community awareness and scientific nursery and rearing systems to low-cost fish feed preparation, families are adopting sustainable fish farming practices that increase production while reducing costs.

Together, we are strengthening household incomes, improving nutrition security, and building resilient rural communities—one pond at a time.

Across the Sundarbans Delta, many household ponds remain underutilized despite their immense potential to improve household nutrition and generate sustainable income. Through our ongoing initiative in Kultali Block, we are supporting 475 rural households to adopt scientific fish farming practices and transform these ponds into productive livelihood assets.

The programme focuses on pond preparation, scientific fish culture, water quality management, and training on preparing low-cost fish feed using locally available resources. By strengthening technical knowledge and improving resource management, families are increasing fish production while reducing cultivation costs.

This intervention is more than just fish farming—it is about enhancing household nutrition through access to quality protein, creating additional income opportunities through surplus fish sales, and building climate-resilient livelihoods by making the best use of existing natural resources.

This initiative is being implemented with the generous support of the Azim Premji Foundation, reaffirming our shared commitment to strengthening food security, sustainable livelihoods, and resilient rural communities in the Sundarbans.

Small ponds. Better nutrition. Higher incomes. Stronger communities.

We celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and active participation from our children and adolescents. The day was dedicated to promoting the importance of balance between body and mind, encouraging healthy habits and overall well-being.
Through guided yoga sessions, breathing exercises, and awareness discussions, participants learned how yoga helps improve physical fitness, concentration, emotional resilience, and inner peace. The energy, discipline, and joy displayed by the children made the celebration truly meaningful.
Together, we reaffirmed the message that a healthy body and a calm mind are the foundation for a brighter future.
