His passing is an irreversible damage to his family and friends. The tragedy has left behind a vacuum that can never be filled. He was a part of our soul and as his childhood friends, we are totally devastated. His sudden and untimely demise has also reminded us that life is fleeting, it is only a few days that we have to live and look beyond our own lives. Suman’s philosophy in life was to help
others, particularly those in need. Even though he is not around, we want to carry forward the torch in his name. For this purpose we have started ‘SU-MON’, an NGO to take up a variety of community service programmes. ‘SU-MON’ literally means a ‘good mind’ but since often a good mind is not much different from a good heart, it is the later meaning we choose to propagate. The NGO’s name is also inspired by that of Arup’s, who was better known as Suman.
