প্রিয় শুভানুধ্যায়ীগণ,

উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন-এর পক্ষ থেকে আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা।

আমরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সঙ্গে জানাচ্ছি যে সম্প্রতি আরও দুইজন মেধাবী ছাত্রকে উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন পরিবারের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয়েছে।

সাহিদ আনোয়ার পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার এক কৃষক পরিবারের প্রথম প্রজন্মের শিক্ষার্থী। সাহিদ ২০২০ সালে উচ্চমাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় ৯২% নম্বর পেয়ে O (Outstanding) গ্রেড অর্জন করে।

এরপর শুরু হয় সাহিদের জীবনের এক অনুপ্রেরণামূলক গল্প। অসাধারণ ফলাফল সত্ত্বেও সে কোনো কলেজে ভর্তি না হয়ে টানা চার বছর NEET পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করে। অবশেষে ২০২৪ সালে NEET-এ সফল হয়ে সে কলকাতার স্বনামধন্য নীলরতন সরকার মেডিক্যাল কলেজ ও হাসপাতাল-এ MBBS কোর্সে ভর্তি হয়।

আমাদের একজন সম্মানিত দাতা, যিনি নিজের পরিচয় গোপন রাখতে ইচ্ছুক, সাহিদের সম্পূর্ণ MBBS পড়াশোনার ব্যয়ভার বহন করার দায়িত্ব নিয়েছেন।

আকাশ দে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের হুগলি জেলার এক কৃষক পরিবারের প্রথম প্রজন্মের শিক্ষার্থী। আকাশ এ বছর মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় ৯৪.৪% নম্বর পেয়ে AA (Outstanding) গ্রেড অর্জন করেছে এবং বর্তমানে একাদশ শ্রেণিতে ভর্তি হয়েছে। ভবিষ্যতে সে একজন ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হতে চায়।

আমাদের একজন সন্মানীয়া দাতা তাঁর প্রয়াত স্বামী ডাঃ শৈবাল বসু-র স্মৃতির উদ্দেশ্যে ডাঃ শৈবাল বসু মেমোরিয়াল স্কলারশিপ-এর মাধ্যমে আকাশের পড়াশোনার দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেছেন।

উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন সম্ভবত দেশের প্রথম এবং একমাত্র NGO, যার নিম্নলিখিত চারটি বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্য আছে —
1. উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন কোনো নগদ লেনদেন করে না। আমাদের সমস্ত লেনদেন সম্পূর্ণ ডিজিটাল মাধ্যমে সম্পন্ন হয়।
2. উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন কোনো শিক্ষার্থী বা তাঁর পরিবারের হাতে সরাসরি কোনো অর্থ প্রদান করে না। ফাউন্ডেশনের সমস্ত আর্থিক সহায়তা অনলাইনের মাধ্যমে সরাসরি সংশ্লিষ্ট কলেজ/হোস্টেলের ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে অথবা প্রাইভেট টিউটরের ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে প্রদান করা হয়।
3. মেমোরিয়াল স্কলারশিপ:- কোনো দাতা যদি ছয় মাস বা তার বেশি সময় ধরে একজন শিক্ষার্থীর পাশে দাঁড়ান, তবে তিনি তাঁর প্রিয় কোনো স্বজনের স্মৃতিতে সেই বৃত্তির নামকরণ করতে পারেন।
4. উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন তার সকল দাতার জন্য একটি সম্পূর্ণ স্বচ্ছ ও নির্ভরযোগ্য প্ল্যাটফর্ম প্রদান করে।

আপনি বা আপনার পরিচিত কেউ যদি কোনো মেধাবী অথচ আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল শিক্ষার্থীর স্বপ্নপূরণে, প্রিয়জনের স্মৃতিকে সম্মান জানিয়ে পাশে দাঁড়াতে চান, তাহলে আমাদের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করুন।

Smt. Uma Guha was born in Myanmar (erstwhile Burma) in the year 1932. Her family relocated to Kolkata in the late 1940s. She displayed interest in and empathy for the causes of others early in her life.

Greetings from the Uma Guha Foundation !

We are happy to induct two more bright students into Uma Guha Foundation family recently.

Sahid Anowar, a first generation learner, who comes from a farmer’s family of Murshidabad district,West Bengal. Sahid passed Higher Secondary Examination in 2020 securing 92% marks with grade O(Outstanding).

Then starts a very inspiring story of Sahid about his grit and determination. In stead of taking admission in any college after he passed higher secondary examination with an outstanding result, Sahid appeared for NEET in consecutive four years clearing NEET in 2024 and took admission in reputed Nilratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata for his MBBS.

One of our Valued Donors who wants to remain anonymous has kindly consented to take care of the entire expenses of Sahid’s MBBS course.

Akash Dey, a first generation learner, who comes from a farmer’s family of Hooghly district, West Bengal. Akash passed Secondary Examination in this year securing 94.4% marks with Grade AA(Outstanding) and has now taken admission in class 11. Akash wants to be an engineer.

One of our Valued Donors has kindly consented to support Akash with Dr. Saibal Basu Memorial Scholarship in memory of her beloved husband.

Uma Guha Foundation is probably the first and only NGO in the country which has following four unique features:

1. Uma Guha Foundation strictly follows a No Cash Transaction policy. All our transactions are completely digitised.

2. Uma Guha Foundation doesn’t give any amount to any student or to his / her family. All disbursements are made online directly to the College/ Hostel bank account or to the bank account of the private tutor.

3. Memorial Scholarship- It’s a unique feature of Uma Guha Foundation by which when a donor supports a student of the foundation for six months or more , the donor can give this scholarship in memory of someone beloved from the donor’s family.

4. Uma Guha Foundation provides an absolutely transparent platform to all its donors.

প্রিয় দাতা ও শুভানুধ্যায়ীগণ,

*উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন*-এর পক্ষ থেকে আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা জানাই সকলকে।

এ বছর ফাউন্ডেশনের ৭ জন ছাত্রছাত্রী পশ্চিমবঙ্গের দুটি বোর্ড পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল — ৪ জন উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক এবং ৩ জন মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায়। ৭ জন ছাত্রছাত্রীই সফলভাবে তাদের নিজ নিজ বোর্ড পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হয়েছে।

উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণকারী ৪ জন ছাত্রছাত্রীর প্রাপ্ত নম্বরের হার ৯১.৬% থেকে ৭৪% এর মধ্যে এবং মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণকারী ৩ জন ছাত্রছাত্রীর প্রাপ্ত নম্বরের হার ৯০.১% থেকে ৫০.৪% এর মধ্যে।

এই ৭ জন ছাত্রছাত্রীই আর্থিকভাবে পিছিয়ে পড়া ও সুবিধাবঞ্চিত পরিবার থেকে উঠে এসেছে। তাদের মধ্যে ৪ জন পশ্চিমবঙ্গের প্রত্যন্ত গ্রামের বাসিন্দা এবং ৩ জন কলকাতা ও শহরতলির এলাকার বাসিন্দা।

বিভিন্ন প্রতিকূলতা ও চ্যালেঞ্জের মধ্যেও অসাধারণ ফলাফল করার জন্য ৭ জন ছাত্রছাত্রীকেই *উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন*-এর পক্ষ থেকে আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন জানাই এবং তাদের আগামী শিক্ষাজীবনের জন্য রইল অনেক শুভেচ্ছা ও সাফল্যের কামনা।

Dear Donors and Well- wishers,

Greetings from the Uma Guha Foundation !

This year 7 students of the Foundation had appeared for two West Bengal Board examinations, 4 for Higher Secondary and 3 for Secondary examination. All 7 students have successfully passed their respective Board examination.

The 4 students who appeared for Higher Secondary examination have scored in the range of 91.6% to 74% while 3 students who appeared for Secondary examination have scored in the range of 90.1% to 50.4%.

All the 7 students are from financially backward and underprivileged communities, 4 students are from interior villages of West Bengal while 3 students are from Kolkata and suburbs.

Heartiest Congratulations to all our 7 students for doing exceedingly well in spite of facing several challenges.

Uma Guha Foundation is immensely thankful to all the donors for providing Memorial Scholarship/ Educational Scholarship to these students and also to all the teachers for being a constant source of inspiration and support to these students.

We are happy to induct two more bright students into Uma Guha Foundation family.

Meet Trideep Maji, a first generation learner, who comes from a farmer’s family of West Midnapore district,West Bengal. Trideep passed Higher Secondary Examination in 2025 securing 89% marks with grade A+ ( Excellent) and has now taken admission in reputed Jadavpur University with 4 years Geology honours.

One of our Valued Donors Mrs. Shoma Saxena has kindly consented to support Trideep with Shri Purnendu Sekhar Paul Memorial Scholarship in memory of her beloved father, who himself was a student of the first batch of Geology honours of Jadavpur University.

Meet Miss Debangana Karak who comes from Hooghly district of West Bengal but now stays in Howrah near Kolkata. Debangana’s father works in a factory and mother a housewife. Debangana passed Secondary Examination in 2025 securing 87% marks with Grade A+ ( Excellent) and has now taken admission in class 12. Debangana wants to be an engineer.

One of our Valued Donors who wants to remain anonymous has kindly consented to support Debangana with Smt. Swapna Dutta Memorial Scholarship in memory of her beloved sister. A sum of Rs. 2600/- is paid every month to the four tutors of Debangana under this scholarship.

পরিচিত হোন ত্রিদীপ মাজি–র সঙ্গে। সে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার এক কৃষক পরিবারের প্রথম প্রজন্মের শিক্ষার্থী। ত্রিদীপ ২০২৫ সালে উচ্চমাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় ৮৯% নম্বর ও গ্রেড A+ ( Excellent ) অর্জন করেছে এবং বর্তমানে সে যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ৪ বছরের জিওলজি অনার্স কোর্সে ভর্তি হয়েছে।

আমাদের অন্যতম সম্মানীয়া দাতা শ্রীমতী শোমা সাক্সেনা তাঁর প্রয়াত পিতার স্মৃতিতে *শ্রী পূর্ণেন্দু শেখর পাল মেমোরিয়াল স্কলারশিপ*–এর মাধ্যমে ত্রিদীপকে সহায়তা করার জন্য সম্মতি দিয়েছেন। উল্লেখযোগ্য যে, শ্রীমতী শোমা সাক্সেনা - র পিতা নিজেও যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জিওলজি অনার্স বিভাগের প্রথম ব্যাচের ছাত্র ছিলেন।

এবার পরিচিত হোন দেবাঙ্গনা কারক–এর সঙ্গে। সে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের হুগলি জেলার বাসিন্দা হলেও বর্তমানে কলকাতার নিকটবর্তী হাওড়ায় থাকে। দেবাঙ্গনার বাবা একটি কারখানায় কর্মরত এবং মা গৃহিণী। দেবাঙ্গনা ২০২৫ সালে মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় ৮৭% নম্বর ও গ্রেড A+ (Excellent) অর্জন করেছে এবং বর্তমানে সে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণিতে ভর্তি হয়েছে। ভবিষ্যতে দেবাঙ্গনা একজন ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হতে চায়।

আমাদের এক সম্মানীয় দাতা, যিনি নাম প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছুক, তাঁর প্রয়াত দিদির স্মৃতিতে *শ্রীমতী স্বপ্না দত্ত মেমোরিয়াল স্কলারশিপ*–এর মাধ্যমে দেবাঙ্গনাকে সহায়তা করার জন্য সম্মতি দিয়েছেন। এই স্কলারশিপের অধীনে দেবাঙ্গনার চারজন গৃহশিক্ষককে প্রতি মাসে মোট ২৬০০ টাকা প্রদান করা হয়।

*উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন* সম্ভবত দেশের প্রথম ও একমাত্র *NGO*, যার নিম্নলিখিত চারটি অনন্য বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে—
