Greetings from the Uma Guha Foundation !

We are happy to induct two more bright students into Uma Guha Foundation family.

Meet Trideep Maji, a first generation learner, who comes from a farmer’s family of West Midnapore district,West Bengal. Trideep passed Higher Secondary Examination in 2025 securing 89% marks with grade A+ ( Excellent) and has now taken admission in reputed Jadavpur University with 4 years Geology honours.

One of our Valued Donors Mrs. Shoma Saxena has kindly consented to support Trideep with Shri Purnendu Sekhar Paul Memorial Scholarship in memory of her beloved father, who himself was a student of the first batch of Geology honours of Jadavpur University.

Meet Miss Debangana Karak who comes from Hooghly district of West Bengal but now stays in Howrah near Kolkata. Debangana’s father works in a factory and mother a housewife. Debangana passed Secondary Examination in 2025 securing 87% marks with Grade A+ ( Excellent) and has now taken admission in class 12. Debangana wants to be an engineer.

One of our Valued Donors who wants to remain anonymous has kindly consented to support Debangana with Smt. Swapna Dutta Memorial Scholarship in memory of her beloved sister. A sum of Rs. 2600/- is paid every month to the four tutors of Debangana under this scholarship.

Uma Guha Foundation is probably the first and only NGO in the country which has following four unique features:

1. Uma Guha Foundation strictly follows a No Cash Transaction policy. All our transactions are completely digitised.

2. Uma Guha Foundation doesn’t give any amount to any student or to his / her family. All disbursements are made online directly to the College/ Hostel bank account or to the bank account of the private tutor.

3. Memorial Scholarship- It’s a unique feature of Uma Guha Foundation by which when a donor supports a student of the foundation for six months or more , the donor can give this scholarship in memory of someone beloved from the donor’s family.

4. Uma Guha Foundation provides an absolutely transparent platform to all its donors.

*উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশনের* পক্ষ থেকে আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা।

আমরা আনন্দের সঙ্গে জানাচ্ছি যে উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন পরিবারের সঙ্গে আরও দুইজন মেধাবী ছাত্রছাত্রী যুক্ত হয়েছে।

পরিচিত হোন ত্রিদীপ মাজি–র সঙ্গে। সে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার এক কৃষক পরিবারের প্রথম প্রজন্মের শিক্ষার্থী। ত্রিদীপ ২০২৫ সালে উচ্চমাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় ৮৯% নম্বর ও গ্রেড A+ ( Excellent ) অর্জন করেছে এবং বর্তমানে সে যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ৪ বছরের জিওলজি অনার্স কোর্সে ভর্তি হয়েছে।

আমাদের অন্যতম সম্মানীয়া দাতা শ্রীমতী শোমা সাক্সেনা তাঁর প্রয়াত পিতার স্মৃতিতে *শ্রী পূর্ণেন্দু শেখর পাল মেমোরিয়াল স্কলারশিপ*–এর মাধ্যমে ত্রিদীপকে সহায়তা করার জন্য সম্মতি দিয়েছেন। উল্লেখযোগ্য যে, শ্রীমতী শোমা সাক্সেনা - র পিতা নিজেও যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জিওলজি অনার্স বিভাগের প্রথম ব্যাচের ছাত্র ছিলেন।

এবার পরিচিত হোন দেবাঙ্গনা কারক–এর সঙ্গে। সে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের হুগলি জেলার বাসিন্দা হলেও বর্তমানে কলকাতার নিকটবর্তী হাওড়ায় থাকে। দেবাঙ্গনার বাবা একটি কারখানায় কর্মরত এবং মা গৃহিণী। দেবাঙ্গনা ২০২৫ সালে মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় ৮৭% নম্বর ও গ্রেড A+ (Excellent) অর্জন করেছে এবং বর্তমানে সে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণিতে ভর্তি হয়েছে। ভবিষ্যতে দেবাঙ্গনা একজন ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হতে চায়।

আমাদের এক সম্মানীয় দাতা, যিনি নাম প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছুক, তাঁর প্রয়াত দিদির স্মৃতিতে *শ্রীমতী স্বপ্না দত্ত মেমোরিয়াল স্কলারশিপ*–এর মাধ্যমে দেবাঙ্গনাকে সহায়তা করার জন্য সম্মতি দিয়েছেন। এই স্কলারশিপের অধীনে দেবাঙ্গনার চারজন গৃহশিক্ষককে প্রতি মাসে মোট ২৬০০ টাকা প্রদান করা হয়।

*উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন* সম্ভবত দেশের প্রথম ও একমাত্র *NGO*, যার নিম্নলিখিত চারটি অনন্য বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে—

১. উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন সম্পূর্ণভাবে *নো ক্যাশ ট্রানজ্যাকশন নীতি* অনুসরণ করে। আমাদের সমস্ত লেনদেন সম্পূর্ণরূপে ডিজিটাল।

২. উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন কোনো ছাত্রছাত্রী বা তার পরিবারের হাতে সরাসরি অর্থ প্রদান করে না। সমস্ত অর্থ অনলাইনে সরাসরি কলেজ/হোস্টেলের ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে অথবা গৃহশিক্ষকের ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে পাঠানো হয়।

৩. *মেমোরিয়াল স্কলারশিপ*—উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশনের একটি অনন্য উদ্যোগ। কোনো দাতা যদি ছয় মাস বা তার বেশি সময়ের জন্য কোনো ছাত্রছাত্রীকে সহায়তা করেন, তবে তিনি তাঁর পরিবারের কোনো প্রিয় ব্যক্তির স্মৃতিতে এই স্কলারশিপের নামকরণ করতে পারেন।

৪. উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন তার সমস্ত দাতাদের জন্য একটি সম্পূর্ণ স্বচ্ছ প্ল্যাটফর্ম প্রদান করে।

Meet Partha Sarathi Kar, a first generation learner from Hooghly district of West Bengal. His father in spite of being not well works as a labourer and her mother runs a small grocery shop from their home in the village. Partha has passed Secondary Examination in 2025 with Grade AA ( Outstanding) securing 94% marks. Partha wants to be an engineer.

One of our Valued Donors Mr. Angshuman Guha has kindly consented to provide Smt. Bani Guha Memorial Scholarship, in memory of her beloved mother, to Partha to take care of his educational expenses.

Meet Souvik Mukherjee who comes from Bankura district of West Bengal. Souvik’s father works as a labourer and mother is a housewife. Souvik passed Secondary Examination in 2025 securing 63% marks with Grade A ( Very Good) and he wants to join medical fraternity.

Support Souvik Mukherjee with a Memorial Scholarship in memory of someone beloved in your family/ friends .

প্রিয় Well- wishers,

আমরা আনন্দের সঙ্গে জানাচ্ছি যে, উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন পরিবারের সঙ্গে আরও দুইজন মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থী যুক্ত হল।

চলুন পরিচিত হই হুগলি জেলার প্রথম প্রজন্মের শিক্ষার্থী পার্থ সারথি কর-এর সঙ্গে। তাঁর বাবা অসুস্থ থাকা সত্ত্বেও দিনমজুরির কাজ করেন এবং মা তাঁদের গ্রামে একটি ছোট মুদি দোকান চালান। পার্থ ২০২৫ সালে মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় গ্রেড AA (অসাধারণ) অর্জন করে ৯৪% নম্বর পেয়েছে। সে ভবিষ্যতে একজন ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হতে চায়।

আমাদের অন্যতম শ্রদ্ধেয় দাতা শ্রী অঙ্গশুমান গুহ-এর সৌজন্যে পার্থকে দেওয়া হচ্ছে শ্রীমতি বাণী গুহ স্মৃতি বৃত্তি, যা ওনার প্রিয় মাতার স্মৃতিতে প্রদত্ত। এই বৃত্তি পার্থর শিক্ষাগত খরচ বহন করবে।

এবার পরিচিত হই বাঁকুড়া জেলার সৌভিক মুখার্জী-র সঙ্গে। তাঁর বাবা দিনমজুর এবং মা গৃহিণী। সৌভিক ২০২৫ সালের মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় গ্রেড A (খুব ভালো) পেয়ে ৬৩% নম্বর অর্জন করেছে। ভবিষ্যতে সে মেডিকেল পেশায় যোগ দিতে চায়।

আপনি বা আপনার পরিচিত কেউ চাইলে প্রিয়জনের স্মৃতিতে সৌভিককে মাসে বৃত্তি দিয়ে সহায়তা করতে পারেন।

উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশন সম্ভবত দেশের একমাত্র এনজিও, যেখানে নিচের চারটি বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্য পাওয়া যায়:

It makes us happy to state that since it’s inception almost two and half years ago, Uma Guha Foundation has been steadily working among many bright underprivileged students which makes us satisfied.

So far we have supported more than 25 underprivileged students, both children and young adults. One of our earliest beneficiaries has recently finished a course in 4 - year B.Sc Nursing from a reputed hospital in West Bengal and has joined the medical fraternity.

প্রিয় শুভানুধ্যায়ী,

উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশনের পক্ষ থেকে শুভেচ্ছা !!

আমরা এটা জানাতে পেরে ভীষণ আনন্দিত যে— আমাদের প্রথম দিককার শিক্ষার্থীদের একজন দীপান্বিতা ঘোষ, তার ৪ বছরের বি.এস.সি নার্সিং কোর্স শেষ করার পর এখন স্নাতক প্রশিক্ষণার্থী নার্স হিসাবে কলকাতার অন্যতম প্রধান হাসপাতালে যোগদান করেছে।

অাজ উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশনের সকলের জন্য একটি তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ দিন কারণ দীপান্বিতা তার নিজের ভবিষ্যতের দায়িত্ব নিতে পারার এবং তার পরিবারের সামগ্রিক কুশলতায় সাহায্য করতে পারার জন্য সক্ষম হয়ে উঠেছে। দীপান্বিতা উমা গুহ ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রথম ছাত্রী যে পেশাদার জগতে যোগদান করেছে।

Greetings from Uma Guha Foundation!!

We are pleased to share that one of our earlier students Miss Dipanwita Ghosh has now joined one of the leading hospitals of Kolkata as Graduate Trainee Nurse after completion of her 4 year B.Sc Nursing course.

This is a significant day for all of us in UGF as a young lady is now empowered to take charge of her future and start contributing to her family's wellbeing. Dipanwita is the first student of Uma Guha Foundation to join the professional world.

Uma Guha Foundation is immensely thankful to Mrs. Jhumur Basu for supporting Dipanwita in her educational journey with Dr. Saibal Basu Memorial Scholarship, in memory of her beloved husband.

Dipanwita was inducted in to UGF family when she was in her third semester and the Foundation is extremely happy to be a part of her educational life for last two and half years and will always cherish the fond memories of her association with us.

Congratulations Dipanwita and we wish you All The Very Best for all your future endeavours.
