SHIRU, a street dog, lost her left hind limb in an accident. As she was unable to put equal weight on both sides, the left side of her pelvis dropped remarkably. While running, she often tried to put weight on her amputated side leading to injury on the residual limb. Ms. Bhagchandka who was deeply moved by the condition of this dog, gave the responsibility of making artificial limb for Shiru to Ms. Indrani Bhattacharya, a senior Prosthetist & Orthotist and also a Life Member of RCFC . Ms. Bhattacharya fabricated the artificial limb for Shiru at RCFC’s Workshop in collaboration with her company “REKON”. Shiru is at present learning to walk with her new leg.
