The Rotary Club of Calcutta South Circle, in collaboration with Bharat Scouts & Guides and Vivekananda Guild, successfully held a Thalassemia Awareness Camp on August 31, 2025. District Governor Rtn. Dr. Ramendu Homchaudhuri shed light on the fundamentals of this genetic disorder, its severity, and the importance of prevention over detection emphasising on lab test of blood of the propective life partners and/or during early days of pregnancy- preference of ‘Microscope over Horroscope’ in life partners’ selection.The camp aimed to educate the community about Thalassemia, its risks, and preventive measures, promoting a healthier future for all.

This initiative reflects the Rotary Club's commitment to improving public health and awareness, aligning with its mission to serve humanity. By spreading knowledge and fostering community engagement, the club continues to make a positive impact in society

****7TH INSTALLATION CEREMONY OF ROTARY CLUB OF CALCUTTA SOUTH CIRCLE****

On 3rd August our club has organised this meeting at Banquet of Regenta Orko’s hotel. The District Governor 2035-26 of RID 3291 Rtn. Dr. Ramendu Homchaudhuri graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with First Lady Rtn. Dr. Bandana Homchaudhuri. Many Past District Governors, their spouses, distinguished office bearers of the District Secretariat team, other invitees and our club members were present in the meeting. Our club would like to convey heartfelt of thanks to all the invitees. Our heartfelt gratitude to the DG Dr. Ramendu Homchaudhuri for his heart-touching and to-the-point speech- be it on describing factual information or be it on expressing his wishes and dreams surrounding to our District activities or be it on his expectations from our club- it was superb. Swanirbhar ~ A Project Close To Our Heart ❤️

Rotary Club of Calcutta South Circle Donated 10 Sewing Machines At Kalahrdaya,Our Interact School, Kabardanga, Kolkata on 25th July 2025 (Friday).

Beneficiaries were students of our Tailoring Institute who had just completed their course.

Our IPP Srabani Chattopadhyay 's dream, executed by President Tapas Seal & Secretary Rathi Samadder. Great Beginning 👍

PP Sukhendu Kumar Basu, PP Parama Dasgupta, Gour Gopal Ray & two guests were present there.

On behalf of EIRWT, Past District Governor Rajani Mukerji & his spouse rotarian Bollori Mukerji were there to encourage us.

We are grateful to Eastern India Rotary Welfare Trust for giving us opportunity to work in better & bigger way !!!
