Celebrating Monisha’s Achievement!

We are thrilled to share a proud moment with our community. Ms. Monisha, a Rukmani Trust Scholarship awardee and a valued member of the Gold Heart Foundation’s Content Creation Team, has won the 2nd Prize in a Policy Drafting Competition held at her college, Central Law College - Salem, on 9th July 2025.

The theme of the competition—“Law Relating to Superstitious Beliefs”—was both challenging and intellectually demanding. Monisha impressed the judges with her critical insight, articulate reasoning, and thoughtful policy recommendations.

Her achievement stands as a powerful reflection of her dedication, intellect, and the transformative impact of education.

We are immensely proud to support bright, committed young individuals like Monisha and look forward to witnessing her continued journey of growth and excellence.

Harini A.N., a first-year B.Tech Food Technology student at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College in Perambalur, exemplifies resilience, sacrifice, and a family's unwavering commitment to a girl’s education despite financial adversity.
Harini’s family, led by her father, A.G. Nagalingam—a hardworking loadman—and her mother, N. Leelavathi, who manages their household, has always valued education. Alongside her are two younger siblings, her sister A.N. Kavya in 10th grade and her brother N. Tamizh Kumaran in 7th grade, each inspired by a shared hope for a brighter future through learning.

In the face of mounting financial challenges, Harini’s parents prioritized their children’s education, guided by an unshakeable belief in her potential. Even when relatives questioned their ability to afford college and discouraged Harini’s ambitions, her parents stood firm, embodying strength and resilience. Determined to support her dreams, they borrowed money to pay her college fees, driven by their hope to see her succeed.

As their financial situation became more difficult, Harini reached out for assistance to continue her studies. The support from the and Rukmani Trust has eased the burden on her parents, allowing Harini to pursue her education without the weight of financial uncertainty. She is profoundly grateful for this aid, which has not only impacted her life but also honored the sacrifices her family has made.

Harini aspires to become a Food Safety Officer, not only to achieve her educational goals but to safeguard public health and ensure food quality in her community. She believes that educating a girl is an investment in the future—not just hers, but that of her community and society as a whole. Through her journey, Harini is determined to demonstrate that empowering girls transforms lives, communities, and the world at large.

Summer Camp 2025 at Loreto Entally: Nurturing Future Changemakers 🌟

A week of color, creativity, and conviction — the Loreto Rainbow Summer Camp lit up with energy, learning, and purpose. 💫

For the girls at Loreto Rainbow Homes, this wasn’t just about learning new skills — it was about finding their voice, building confidence, and stepping into leadership. From thought-provoking sessions on social responsibility to collaborative workshops under the theme “I to We to Us,” every experience was crafted to foster growth, empathy, and action.

On May 4th, our Trustee Jai Shankar Gopalan joined the camp as a volunteer, leading hands-on activities that encouraged these young minds to explore their potential and embrace the joy of service.

💡 Key Reflections:
1️⃣ “I will respect myself, respect you, and therefore build a peaceful society.”
2️⃣ “Volunteering is giving — without expecting — your time, your skills, or simply your presence.”

A heartfelt thank you to Loreto Rainbow Homes for building a space where girls are empowered to dream, lead, and inspire. With voices like theirs, the future shines brighter than ever.

India’s labor market has talent — but are we helping students reach their potential? 📊

Earlier this week our Trustee, Jaishankar Gopalan Krishnan, delivered a powerful talk, titled “The State of India’s Labor Market: Challenges and Opportunities,” delivered at the Jadavpur University.

His presentation made a powerful case for:

✔️ Starting talent identification from Class VIII
✔️ Training teachers as career mentors
✔️ Making education match real job market needs

With over 5.71 crore students in secondary school and 4.33 crore in higher education, we must act now to turn potential into purpose.

We’re sitting on a massive student base. Let’s guide them right.
