On 10th January, 2025, Liberal Association for Movement of People (LAMP) observed its 46th Foundation Day at its Central Office in Kolkata. Since being founded in 1979, LAMP has adhered to its aims of promoting equality and empowerment in society and uplifting the particularly vulnerable sections of society.

The gathering was presided over by Dr Jyotsna Chatterji, Ex-President of LAMP through video conferencing; she delivered a talk on the topic 'Development of the Development Sector: How the NGO and its Work has Changed in West Bengal Over the last 30 Years' to all present at the gathering.

All members of the Governing Body; Dr Malay Dewanji, President; Ms Sutapa Sakar, Vice-President; Mr Ashok Bhattacharjee, General Secretary; Mr Aloke Banerjee, Joint Secretary; Mr Madhab Das, Treasurer; Ms Mahua Maity; and Mr Priyaranjan Sarkar were present and participated with their own viewpoints on the topic of 'Development of the Development Sector'.

We thank everyone who attended, and all our members of staff who planned and arranged for the event to be successful.

Christmas Day celebrations at LAMP's Shakti Sadan Project. The residents of the project were accompanied by the project supervisor Ms Shampa Dolui and other members of staff. All of them including the staff and Shampa ensured to make the day and celebration successful for the residents.

On 14th November, 2024, Children's Day; Liberal Association for Movement of People (LAMP) organised and conducted the Inter-NGO Sit & Draw Competition 2024. Six NGOs participated in the competition including LAMP;

Tiljala Shed
Gana Unnayan Parshad
Humanity Association
Gandhi Peace Foundation South Calcutta
National Council of Women in India
Liberal Association for Movement of People

Children of ages 6-18 participated in the competition in three categories. The competition was adjudicated by a panel of independent judges; comprising of Ms Sneha Khan and Ms Suhita Banerjee.

The event also saw the release of the 2024 issue of শিশু জগৎ (Shishu Jagat), an annual bengali children's publication by LAMP comprising of art and literature by children from NGOs.

Dr Malay Dewanjee (President), Ms Sutapa Sarkar (Vice-President), Mr Ashok Bhattacharjee (General Secretary), and Mr Aloke Banerjee (Joint Secretary) were in attendance of the event along with representatives from the participating organisations.

Members of staff of LAMP; Mahua, Paritosh, Siddharta, and others ensured the event was successful.

LAMP held its Annual Garments Distribution event on 4th October, 2024 for the children of its Open Shelter for Children project at Kolkata, West Bengal. Generous contributions were made by Umeschandra College, Swapna Puron Foundation, Khawab Foundation, and Ms Suparna Dutta, Councillor of Ward No. 40, Kolkata.

The event was presided over by Dr Malay Dewanjee, President, LAMP and Mr Aloke Banerjee, Joint Secretary, LAMP. Dr Tofazzal Haque, Principal, Umeschandra College and representatives from the donors were also present.

Members of staff from LAMP and the Open Shelter for Children project; Joyeeta, Siddhartha, Sharmishtha, Paritosh, Mahua, Piyali, the children, and a few others ensured that the event was successful.
