An awareness program on Hemophilia was organized for ASHA Karmis on 10th June, 2025 at Dadpur Gram Panchayet. The event was conducted by The Haemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter in collaboration with Hemophilia Federation of India (HFI) and World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH).

The main objective of the program was to spread awareness about Hemophilia and to educate ASHA workers on how to help identify and support patients suffering from Hemophilia.

The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Dipanjana Dutta, State Coordinator, ORDI, West Bengal. She shared important knowledge about the symptoms, causes, and diagnosis of Hemophilia. She guided the ASHA Karmis on how to identify suspected cases and the steps to take for early treatment and support.

The session emphasized the important role ASHA workers play at the grassroots level in healthcare. Their help can greatly improve early diagnosis and create a supportive community for Hemophilia patients.

The event saw active participation from ASHA workers, and many questions were answered during the interactive session. Educational materials and pamphlets were distributed to help ASHA Karmis in their fieldwork.

The awareness program was a great success in empowering ASHA Karmis with essential knowledge about Hemophilia. With their support, early detection and care for Hemophilia patients can improve, leading to a healthier and more aware society.

✨ **Durga Puja Pandal Hopping 2024** ✨

On the 8th of October 2024, the Youth Group of Haemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter (HSCC) organized our annual Puja Hopping event for Persons with Haemophilia (PWH) and Children with Haemophilia (CWH). This initiative, with the vision "to reduce stress & pain from the life of PWH & CWH," brought smiles, joy, and festive cheer to our community members. 🏵️

We were honored to have the Rotary Club EC Members and HSCC EC Members join us in making this day special. The pandal-hopping journey began from the HSCC premises, taking our participants on a tour of the vibrant, colorful Durga Puja pandals across Kolkata. 🌸🚌

A big thank you to all who participated and contributed to this event, making it a grand success. Special mention to Manik, Rajesh, Wasim and the entire youth team who ensured smooth management of the entire event! 🙌

The Haemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter successfully hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on "The Importance of Haemophilia Management" at Barasat Medical College and Hospital on Thursday, October 3. The program aimed to enhance knowledge and skills in managing haemophilia, ultimately benefiting patients.

Professor & Dr Prantar Chakraborty, graced the event, addressing staff and students on crucial aspects of haemophilia care. His presentation focused on 'Basics of Haemophilia' &' Inhibitor Management. He explained basic factor dose management & discussed a few case studies along with the current scenario in West Bengal.

We also felicitated Professor & Dr Avijit Saha, Dean at Barasat MCH. He provided valuable insights into optimal treatment strategies & the current handling of Haemophilia cases at the Barasat MCH.

The event's success reflected the society's commitment to promoting excellence in healthcare.

We(The Haemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter) had arranged a "Knowledge Enhancement Program/Training on Hemophilia Management" on 14th September,2024 @ Digha with HSCC's active Womens & youth coordinator, in the presence of Dr. Jasashwi Chakraborty(Hematologists, Esic Sealdah), Mr. Debashis Gantait (Physiotherapist, NRS MCH) with the objective to train all the participants about the Hemophilia related information and importance of team work, so that they take part in advocacy properly, where the topic was, 1.Basic & updated treatment in Hemophilia Management, 2.Basic Prevention with Physiotherapy, 3. Advocacy in Different Segment 4.Procurement of Factor, 5. Fund raising training.
6. Information about the stake Holder and GOVT.policies.
7. Team Building exercise.

We celebrated the 78th Independence Day of India at the Haemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter premises on August 15, 2024. The honorable president, secretary, treasurer, and all members were present. Our national flag was hoisted at Hemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter by our president, Mr. Sushil Kumar Tody. Following the flag hoisting, HSCC provided sweets to the members.

Women, children, and youth continued the celebration with small cultural activities such as musical games, recitations, chorus songs, and quizzes. We observed a moment of silence in honor of the R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata victim.

All of the children present participated in a card-making competition, and prizes were awarded to the winners. There was also a teaching program for women who were unable to attend online meetings.

We showed them how to sign up for Google Meet, set up a program meeting code, and added each member to it. The program concluded with a monthly meeting for women, who also received a light meal.

An Awareness and Falicilation Event on World Hemophilia Day, 2024, hosted by The Haemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter.

We( Hemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter ) observed World Hemophilia Day on 21st April,2024 Kendra with the 120 heads of patient and guardian.

Mr. Prasanta Mal , Treasurer of the Hemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter has Session on the theme of WHD, 2024( Theme was: Equitable Access for all, recognising all the bleeding disorders).

Mr. Totan Biswas, Assistant Secretary of the Hemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter, has a Session on Overview on the current scenario in Hemophilia.

There are also present Executive Committee Members of the Hemophilia Society Calcutta Chapter- Rajeev Shaw , Rakesh Devangei, MD. Wasim, Molay Paul, Mrs. Neha Rai Thakur ( Women's Convenor) & Mrs. Ladli Khatoon ( ARWR, HF(I)).

Arranged by the H.S.C.C. cultural event also- They observed this day by Light the Lamp, National Anthem, and opening Dance.

Arranged also - Sit & Draw competition for Children with Hemophilia, Quiz Competition for Person with Hemophilia, Recitation by the Person with Hemophilia.
There are also prizes for all participants.

We have arranged this program every year to cheer up the patients those are surviving with Hemophilia.
