The very known Rash Behari Avenue was newly build at that time. Another unknown road was build there (which is now known as Purna Das road) cutting Rash Behari Avenue angularly. This angular cut-out was alloted to build the park i.e Triangular Park. Our kali Puja was held in south-east portion of the park, which was estd in 1919, even before we held our Durga Puja. Later on many new roads were bui
ld beside the park, and people started living in this locality.By 1931 among these families the youth founded a group to conduct the Durga Puja. We started our Durga Puja at the same place where our Kali Puja was held. At that time the committee members were Manindra Nath Ghosh, Sharasilal Sarkar, Haridas Bhattacharya, Shashtapada Ganguly, and many more, Later on a Podium was build. From that time our durga Puja and Kali Puja was held at that place. 13 years later many new people joined in, In 1944 Sarat Samity people came in to conduct the Puja. They formed a committee and named the puja "Triangular Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja". Pandal was build at the center of the field and size of Idol was also raised. Later on lighting and fare were also introduced. In 1954 the name of the park was changed and hence the name of the Puja was also changed to "Sarat Chatterjee PArk Sarbojanin Durgotsav". In 1955 we had our silver jubilee. From that time onwards we started distributing "Bhog"we also started charitable activities (Distribution of clothes and blankets). Going by the years in 1980 we reached our Golden jubilee. We celebrated it with great heights. Years passed by and in 1990 we celebrated our Diamond Jubilee. As population increased, area of the park decreased, and people's involvement too. In 1997 few people took the responsibility, After few years came our Platinum Jubilee (2005), Many people came in and joined hands to make this Puja big again. Funds were also started coming in huge numbers. Since then there have been no looking back, and we are into our 83rd year. Come let us pray to Goddess Durga to continue it with the same spirit and retain this as a big Puja. May come the 100th year. Let us celebrate this spirit of the Puja by joining hands together. Do come in and like our page, post your comments, feedback, to make this Puja big.
