PRESS NOTE: Haj–2026 (West Bengal)
The West Bengal State Haj Committee wishes to inform all concerned about the key arrangements for pilgrims from the State for Haj–2026.
Pilgrims from the Kolkata embarkation point will travel to Madinah between 18 April and 04 May 2026. The return journey is scheduled from Jeddah between 02 June and 19 June 2026.
Only medically fit pilgrims will be permitted to undertake Haj. Persons suffering from serious medical conditions such as major organ failure, severe neurological or psychiatric illness, dementia, high-risk or advanced pregnancy, active infectious diseases, or those undergoing chemotherapy or other immunosuppressive treatments will not be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage.
From this year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has decided not to permit cooking in kitchens at Aziziya buildings, keeping in view the safety and security of Haj pilgrims. Accordingly, pilgrims are advised to make their food arrangements from outside eateries, restaurants, or other authorized sources. Although the Haj Committee of India explored the possibility of providing catering services, the same could not be finalized. Pilgrims are therefore advised to make their own arrangements for cooked food.
Separate accommodation will be ensured for male and female pilgrims at both Madinah and Makkah, in accordance with prescribed norms. Each pilgrim will also be provided with a smart watch pre-installed with the Haj Suvidha App, supplied by the Haj Committee of India, to facilitate communication and access to essential services during Haj.
The West Bengal State Haj Committee reiterates its commitment to ensuring a safe, well-organized, and smooth Haj experience for all pilgrims from the State.
