Right now we are a small vibrant group of people with one goal, that is to create a better World for these voiceless innocent souls. The dogs on the Indian streets who are suffering from malnutrition, victims of extreme abuse and cruel

ty, accident and left to die on streets, dogs that once lived in a house as a pet but abandoned by the owners and has been thrown on the road for age, illness or high maintenance, dogs who are abandoned by unregistered breeders when they fail to reproduce and just left to die after will have a happy and fulfilling place to stay at Dodaden. They will get full veterinary care. Now we do vaccinations like anti-rabies, DHPPIL, give medicines for skin diseases, treat them periodically by paravets but mainly on the roads. Our Shelter will be functional shortly but at the moment we have two cars which we would like to contribute in the noble cause. You can use our Pet Cabs in cases of emergencies, treatments, vet checkups or for a normal ride dedicated only for these beautiful souls which is unique in Kolkata. The people on this page either people who are affectionate towards dogs who want to contribute for their wellbeing or those who feed dogs around their localities and some even out of curiosity. There will be several kind of posts related to people asking for help some cute pictures of these pure souls or maybe even some that might boil your blood. Some simple rules that are to be followed to be aware of the posts happening, if you can help then you should do so and if argument arise you should keep them at the minimum also do note we are a small team right now so each case will be delt but there might be some delay in functioning.

He is Toto. He is the living, breathing proof of how deeply we have failed them as human beings.
Toto is our rescued baby. For five agonizing years, he could not even stand properly because he was beaten repeatedly, his fragile bones shattered and impacted by sheer cruelty. When he came to us, he was nothing but a hollow frame of skin and bones. Just a few days ago, we almost lost him forever as his body began to shut down from severe renal failure and a host of other agonizing complications.
Toto had completely given up. He lost all hope. He was so utterly terrified of humans that he would shake if we came near, refusing to let anyone touch his body because, in his painful experience, a human hand only meant inflicted torture. To Toto, love and regular meals were distant dreams he couldn’t even fathom.
Now, against all odds, he is at our place. He still cannot move properly, but he is safe. Toto is not just a statistic. He is a living, feeling soul who desperately needs to know that love exists.

Within these humble borders, we have traded the brutal uncertainties of open roads and human cruelty for the dignity of daily bread and unburdened freedom.

To the casual observer, it is merely a patch of rain, trees, and golden light, but no passing stranger can truly measure the immense weight of stress and sacrifice woven into its soil. It stands today as a testament to labor borne out of love, a sanctuary protected by devotion, and a quiet prayer of gratitude for every soul that helped us build it.

Every morning brings a new light to the world, but for a dog living on the streets, it brings only a quiet question: Will I survive today?
They wake up shivering on soaked pavements, their thin fur heavy with rain and their stomachs aching with hunger. They walk for miles on tired paws, dodging traffic and searching for a dry spot that never seems to exist. They cannot scream for help. They cannot knock on a door to ask for shelter. All they can do is look up at passing faces with gentle, hopeful eyes, praying that someone, anyone, will offer a small piece of bread or a moment of kindness.
This monsoon has been merciless. Water has swallowed the dry corners where they used to sleep, leaving them stranded in flooded alleys with nowhere to hide from . Thousands of people walk past them every single day, hurrying under their umbrellas, completely blind to the quiet heartbreak huddled in the shadows.
At the Dodaden Foundation , we cannot close our eyes to their pain.
Through our mass feeding drives across Paikpara and Newtown, we bring warm meals to hundreds of starving dogs. For so many of them, this single bowl of food is all they will eat for the entire day. But it is so much more than just nourishment. It is a soft touch on a wet nose. It is a sign that they are seen, that their lives matter, and that they are not completely forgotten by the world.
The truth is, our heart breaks because we are running out of time and resources. The number of desperate, hungry eyes seems to grow with every passing storm. On top of feeding them, we carry the heavy weight of rescue, life saving vaccinations, medical treatments, and regular sterilizations to break the cycle of suffering. We are pouring everything we have into this fight, but our funds are almost gone.
Right now, a cold, terrified dog is sitting under the pouring rain, waiting for a miracle that might never come unless you step in.

It hasn’t stopped raining for three straight days, and the sanctuary is practically underwater. Every hour, the skies seem to push us closer to the brink, with zero mercy and no end in sight. But despite the rising waters and the relentless storm, our babies who depend on us for every single breath are not alone. Serving them, keeping them safe, and filling their bowls with warm chicken rice isn't just a duty to us; it is our religion.
Through the roaring storm and sheer difficulty, we are fighting to keep them protected in our arms. Every soul at Dodaden Foundation Sanctuary is sheltered, fed, and cared for right down to their tick medicine and clean water. They are getting all the fierce, unconditional love they deserve, no matter how bad the weather gets. Please keep our babies and our team in your hearts and prayers. We will not give up on them.

One year ago, the Dodaden Foundation sanctuary was built on a single, unwavering vision: to give our canine companions the safety, dignity, and love they so deeply deserve. Every dog who walks through our doors carries a history, a past filled with hardship that we work tirelessly to help them forget.
This first year tested us in ways we never imagined. We navigated relentless financial storms, faced overwhelming obstacles, and endured profound heartbreaks. Yet, through every trial, our rescue dogs remained our absolute priority. For every difficult moment, there were pure, undeniable joys that kept us standing.
We made it through 365 days because of the incredible community behind us. To our dedicated patrons and wellwishers: your unshakable faith in our mission kept our doors open and our hearts full. This milestone belongs to you just as much as it belongs to us. Here is to one year of second chances, and to many more ahead.

Today, on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra, a truly heartwarming act of kindness unfolded for the community dogs of Dodaden Foundation. Dr. Papia Ganguly sponsored a special meal, loaded with love and hugs, for these deserving animals. This gesture is particularly significant because, for dogs living on the streets, life offers few privileges beyond their existence itself. Their daily reality is often a harsh struggle for survival, marked by hunger, illness, and constant vulnerability.
The arrival of the monsoons makes their struggle exponentially harder. While rain brings relief to many, for street dogs, it means endless hours of searching for a dry patch of concrete that does not exist. They are forced to shiver through relentless downpours with no shelter to call their own, their fur drenched and their paws constantly soaked, which leads to painful skin infections and maggots. Finding food becomes nearly impossible as waste bins overflow and the scraps they rely on are washed away. Braving the torrential rains without a warm bed or a roof over their heads turns every single day of the season into a battle against hypothermia and exhaustion.
It is in this challenging context that the contribution of Dr. Papia Ganguly shines so brightly. Her special meal was not just about nourishing their bodies; it was about nourishing their spirits. It served as a tangible expression of compassion, a brief respite from their daily struggles, and a powerful message that they are seen, valued, and cared for. Every sunrise gives us a fresh start. For a street dog, it means another day of uncertainty.

They wake up with empty stomachs, soaked from the night's rain, and begin walking again. They cannot ask for help. They cannot knock on a door. Yet they never stop hoping that someone will offer a little food, a kind hand, or a safe place to rest.

This rainy season has been especially harsh. The roads are flooded, the pavements remain wet, and the few places they once called home have disappeared under water. They shiver through cold nights, hungry and exhausted, while thousands pass by without even noticing them.

At Dodaden Foundation, we refuse to look away. Every day, through our mass feeding programme, we reach as many street dogs as we can. For many of them, this is the only meal they will receive all day. It is more than food. It is a reminder that they are seen, that they matter, and that someone cares.

But we cannot do this alone. The number of hungry dogs is growing every day, and our funds are running dangerously low.

Right now, our organization Dodaden Foundation is facing one of the toughest financial crunches we have ever experienced. It feels like we are being hit from every direction at once. Between the rising costs of daily raw materials and cooking gas, skyrocketing electricity bills, and essential manpower costs, just keeping the lights on is a struggle. On top of that, we are managing the heavy medical burdens of multiple treatments, sterilizations, and medicine costs. To make matters worse, a recent severe storm brought down a thundering lot of damages, forcing us to deal with unexpected repair costs we simply cannot afford.
In this environment, keeping our mass feeding drive running in the Paikpara, NewTown area has become an uphill battle every single day.
