Located in the heart of the city of joy, this club can boast of multifarious social and cultural activities in its locality. Its dedicated members are truly committed throughout the year to ensure safety of the locals in the area. Having stepped into the 21st year of organising the Kali Puja, the efforts of its members bore fruit when LGCFA had won various best puja award in 2020. This club has initiated plenty of social drives like blood donation camps and arranging for blood whenever necessary. It played an outstanding role during covid second wave when lots of people in the area were affected. The club also organises free eye camps (eye check-up & refraction), donating pairs of glasses to the needy, free cataract operation (phecho surgery) in collaboration with Lions Club Netra Niketan. The club even organised a pulse polio drive. Keeping in mind the indispensable role of books in an era of online reading, the club boasts of a book bank (science, commerce & arts) to facilitate the spread of knowledge to the younger generation. The members encourage the people to donate books to the book bank to add to its valuable collection of all categories of books. During the last two years we have gone through torrid times, being affected by coronavirus as well as natural hazards like Amphan. The members have actively participated to restore normalcy in the area. They even took an initiative in relief & rehabilitation work to Amphan affected & flood affected people in the remotest areas of Sundarbans.
