Shohochori | Mrittika - মৃত্তিকা Initiative

Every month, many women struggle without access to basic menstrual hygiene. Through Shohochori, we are already supporting 30 women—and now, we aim to reach 80 more underprivileged women.

A sanitary pad is not a luxury, it’s a necessity that ensures dignity, health, and confidence.

• Cost per packet: ₹35
• Packets per month (per woman): 1
• Cost per woman per month: ₹35
• Cost per woman per year: ₹420
• Total for 80 women: ₹33,600 per year

✔ Donate clean, washed and dry clothes
✔ Ensure clothes are in good wearable condition
✔ Check for working buttons, zips and intact seams
✔ Fold clothes neatly before donating
✔ Donate with respect and empathy

DON’Ts of Donating Old Clothes

✖ Don’t donate torn, stained or heavily worn-out clothes
✖ Don’t donate innerwear or socks
✖ Don’t give clothes with bad odour, mould or dampness
✖ Don’t donate clothes that need major repair
✖ Don’t treat donations as waste disposal
