Through collaborative discussions with municipal officials, the team reviewed progress, addressed key challenges, and planned the way forward for effective and sustainable waste management.

A valuable field visit was conducted under the Green Tomorrow – Solid Waste Management Project, supported by LIC HFL CSR, to review the ongoing implementation of solid waste management initiatives, best practices, and the project’s revenue model.

The visiting team interacted with project stakeholders, observed field-level interventions, and discussed sustainable approaches to strengthen waste management systems at the Gram Panchayat level.

Sensitization Programme at Matigara Balika Vidyalaya

As part of the Green Tomorrow Project, a sensitization programme was successfully conducted at Matigara Balika Vidyalaya under Matigara II Gram Panchayat.

Supported by LIC HFL CSR, the session encouraged students to understand the importance of environmental conservation, responsible waste management, and sustainable practices in their daily lives. Through interactive discussions and awareness-building activities, the programme inspired young minds to become active participants in creating cleaner, greener, and more sustainable communities.

🧘‍♀️🌱 Yoga Day Celebration 2026 | Project UTTARAN

Project UTTARAN, a CSR initiative supported by Gun & Shell Factory (GSF), Cossipore, celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 at the Jyotinagar and 96 Slum areas of Cossipore under Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

The day was observed with great enthusiasm by children from both learning centres. Through guided yoga sessions, students learned the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, concentration, and self-discipline. The activities encouraged them to adopt healthy habits and understand the value of maintaining a balanced lifestyle from an early age.

The celebration served as a reminder that yoga is not only a form of exercise but also a pathway to mindfulness, resilience, and overall well-being.

The celebration encouraged young learners to embrace the benefits of yoga for physical fitness, mental well-being, concentration, and self-discipline. 🌱 Eco Justice is Social Justice: Protecting the Earth, Protecting Every Child

On World Environment Day, Project Access to Justice connected environmental protection with child rights and community responsibility. Across five Gram Sabhas in West Tripura, 606 community members participated in awareness and action oriented discussions led by BITAN.

This World Environment Day reminded us that true sustainability is not only about protecting soil, water, and trees. It is also about building communities where every child is safe, free, and protected.

🌱 The future is not something we await; it is something we cultivate. 💚

On this World Environment Day 2026, the grounds of Barasat P.C.S. Government High School became more than a venue, they became a canvas of collective hope, responsibility, and renewal.
Under the Waste No More Initiative, supported by SBI Foundation and implemented by BITAN in collaboration with Barasat Municipality, a day of environmental stewardship unfolded through action, awareness, and aspiration.

As saplings were placed gently into the earth in honor of "একটি গাছ মায়ের নামে", every handful of soil carried a silent pledge to nurture the planet as selflessly as a mother nurtures life. Together, students and teachers took a solemn pledge to not just plant more trees, but to ensure their proper long-term maintenance, and to practice daily waste segregation and effective management.

The celebration witnessed:

The laughter of children, the enthusiasm of parents, the colours on the walls, and the saplings standing against the sky together narrated a timeless truth.

The future is not something we await; it is something we cultivate.
Today, we did not merely plant saplings.

We planted shade for strangers.
We planted cleaner air for children we may never meet.
We planted resilience against storms yet to come.
Most importantly, we planted the belief that the future can still be written in green.

Igniting Minds, Rooting Futures 🎓🌱

This World Environment Day '26, a synchronized wave of ecological consciousness swept across our region's primary, high, and higher secondary schools. Spearheaded by the BITAN under the visionary banner of the LIC Housing Finance Limited CSR Supported "Green Tomorrow" Project, the next generation took center stage, marching in vibrant awareness rallies and leading local plantation drives to actively expand our green cover.

Simultaneously, the bedrock of local governance came alive. Strategic Special Gram Sabha meetings were convened at the Gram Panchayat level, uniting dedicated officials and Panchayat representatives in a singular, urgent mission: charting enforceable, sustainable pathways for regional conservation.

From classrooms to civic councils, we are embedding sustainability into the very fabric of our community. The blueprint for a greener tomorrow begins with educated youth, expert ex*****on, and empowered governance.

🌿 World Environment Day 2026 |🌿

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, communities across Chandrahati-I, Chandrahati-II, Mogra-I, Mogra-II, and Rajhat Gram Panchayats,Hooghly came together to reaffirm their commitment towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future under Solid Waste Management Project.

An inspiring Environment Awareness Rally was organised at Chandrahati-II Gram Panchayat, where 82 enthusiastic participants marched from the Panchayat Office to the Green Space opposite D.K. School, spreading messages on environmental conservation, tree plantation, and responsible waste management. The rally culminated with sapling plantation and a collective pledge to nurture nature and adopt sustainable waste management practices.

Special Gram Sabhas were also observed across the Gram Panchayats under Chinsurah-Mogra and Polba-Dadpur Blocks, with active participation from elected representatives, local stakeholders, and community members. Awareness sessions focused on environmental protection, plastic waste management, and sustainable living practices.

Together, these initiatives highlighted a simple yet powerful message:

♻️ Manage waste responsibly.
🌍 Protect the environment for future generations.

The future is grown, not given. Let us continue working together for a greener tomorrow.
