On the occasion of International Day for Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, the senior students of ABWU School proudly participated in a Tree Plantation Ceremony organized by Birla Industrial & Technological Museum & Mother Earth Foundation , Kolkata.

Our students have always shown a deep love and respect for nature. This activity reaffirmed their commitment to saving the environment.

Adding to the celebration, our students also showcased their environmental awareness by winning the Mangrove day Quiz. Congratulations to all the participants for making us proud!

Yoga is an everyday affair at ABWU. 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️

On the occasion of the International Day of Yoga, declared by the United Nations and celebrated on 21 June, I am delighted to share glimpses of the intense and inspiring yoga sessions performed by the residents of ABWU during the week leading up to Yoga Day.

ABWU School welcomes girls to its Upper Primary classes and is currently accepting applications.

We follow the Madhyamik curriculum and offer a range of specialized activities to support all-round development, including:
• Karate training for self-defense by a trained expert
• Spoken English classes
• Additional computer classes every Saturday

We especially encourage dropout girls to return and continue their education up to
at least the Madhyamik level.

Residential support is also available for girls in need, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Rtn. Santanu Chatterjee Memorial award for old age homes. 2026- 2026.award for excellence.

A few talented children from ABWU participated in an umbrella painting art competition. We’re proud to share that three of their beautiful creations were selected for display in the court yard of the National Museum. Kudos to these incredibly creative girls from our children’s home!

On 30th March 2026, karate certificates and belts were proudly awarded to 12 students who successfully participated in the belt exam. 🥋

The children of ABWU School are being trained in karate by an expert and highly skilled instructor, helping them build discipline, confidence, and strength.

On 20th February 2026, ABWU celebrated Sports Day with great enthusiasm and energy. All the units — from the Children’s Home to the Old Age Home — participated wholeheartedly, showcasing spirit of teamwork, and bonhomie.

Yesterday, the students of ABWU School participated in an inspiring 'Linocut' printmaking workshop held at the Imami Center of Arts. The session was conducted by two talented young artists from Santiniketan — Ms. Sweety Chakma and Mr. Raja.
What made the workshop even more special was that Sweety is a former resident of ABWU Children’s Home. After studying art at Santiniketan University, she has grown into a promising artist — yet she continues to stay connected to ABWU and give back to her alma mater.
It was a proud and heartwarming moment for ABWU to see one of our own return to inspire the next generation.
Our sincere thanks to Dr. Paula Sengupta , artist academician and curator who took the initiative to have the workshop.
